Gal Gadot won't do WW2 unless WB Drops Ratner's company

Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot is continuing to fight back at director and producer Brett Ratner, who has recently come under fire by various women — including Ellen Page — for sexual harassment. After backing out of a dinner meant to honor him recently, leaving Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins to fill in for her, it’s being reported that Gadot is now refusing to return for the Wonder Woman sequel unless Warner Bros. cuts all ties with Ratner.

According to Page Six, Gadot has refused to sign on for the superhero sequel unless Warner Bros. cuts ties with Ratner and his production company RatPac-Dune Entertainment, who helped finance the first film. The actress reportedly doesn’t want the franchise to benefit a producer accused of sexual misconduct.

Reports first began circulating about Ratner earlier this month when a handful of actresses — including X-Men actress Olivia Munn — publicly spoke out against the producer and director, revealing multiple occasions of misconduct between Ratner and the accusing parties. Those reports were then followed up yesterday with another report by X-Men: The Last Stand actress, who went on to tell of her own experiences with the director, which were corroborated by Anna Paquin.

The producer and director is the latest to be accused of sexual harassment following the New York Post’s take down of Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein. Following the accusations made against him, Ratner released a statement in which he revealed that he would “step away from all Warner Bros.-related activities.” With the studio later stating that they were set to cut ties with Ratner and that they would not renew their initial production deal with him beyond 2018. This would seemingly suggest that his co-financial deal with the studio is still in effect throughout 2018, leaving him to still reap the benefits of the Wonder Woman sequel without having to actually be involved with the project.

With the first film having earned an astounding $821 million at the worldwide box office, it’s easy to presume the studio won’t fight Gadot on the matter and will see to it that Ratner’s production company is no longer associated with a franchise built around feminism and female empowerment.

I'm not so sure about that because after WW became a big success most outlets reported that she could up her salary for the second. Either way, WB does not want the press right now that they are firing the actress portraying a feminist icon in favor of continuing to work with a sexual harasser.
