And if her opinion is that woman should be self aware then what is wrong with her having that opinion. Again no where did she state that it was ok for anyone to be harassed, nor did she say modesty would lead to not being harassed.

I'm sure almost every female has been told by there mother, father, or grandparents etc... to go back in the room and put some clothes on at some point in their life. Is that victim shaming?

The problem is responding to Aly's tweet with that sentiment.

It's akin to responding to a tweet lambasting trigger happy police for allowing their bias to cause them to treat Black folk as dangerous criminals for no reason at all by suggesting Black folk are "responsible" for keeping encounters with police calm, and heeding their orders.

A mother, father, grandparent, etc would absolutely be wise to advise their young black children to be "responsible" in those situations, but if they responded to a tweet chiding police brutality with that the coli would rightfully be calling them c00ns.

I had to triple take to make sure this was real:dwillhuh:
90% of the time claims of victim shaming are some faux feminist outrage. But in this case:picard:

shyt was such a monumentally wrong thing to say in the current sociopolitical climate:bryan:

In general; there no excuse for rape

:dahell:

Ya'll serious? I'll shyt on Nicki Minaj's goofy ass magazine cover, but, if she gets raped I'm not gonna go ":mjpls: Well, should've had a long dress on"

I can understand "sexy" (whatever that mean nowadays) clothes having dude's look and be thristy, but, c'mon ya'll, Rape?

Nobody said there is an excuse for rape. All we said is women should be more cautious. Don't dress like a hoe if you don't wanna be treated like one.

We're not making excuses for the criminals. We are trying to get the victims from making stupid mistakes.

OK, I just understood her tweet.

Her tweet had nothing to do with Aly situation with USA team doctor. (I swear some of you nikkas don't even read the story.)

She was responding to Aly random tweet that basically said women shouldn't be treated like hoes. Even though they dress like a hoe. :yeshrug:

Gabby response was basically the Dave Chappelle "Hoe Uniform" comment. :yeshrug:
