Best part about the nun example is that no one here can make the argument that scantily clad women are raped at a higher rate and bolster that claim with evidence.

Because there's no accurate rape statistics, people are using common sense which many of you seem to lack.

Girls aren't being raped and then asked to take a survey so the stats can be given the coli to analyze . "Miss you were just raped but do you mind if we take a survey on what you were wearing and if you were acting like a slut?"

The clear distinction between a robber robbing a person who's not flashing their possessions is that the robber could very easily pick a person who doesn't have anything to give so it's in a robber's best interest to target people who he can net the most from.

Again, this assumes you know what motivates a rapist and reduces the attack to being nothing more than sexual in nature. Maybe he targets the business woman because under normal circumstances, he wouldn't stand a chance with her.

This is one reason why this silly idea of using common sense doesn't apply to rape as there's no concrete way to know if your attempts at mitigating rape are effective. Your only unit of measure is surviving a day without getting raped.

But there are people who may not steal but are enticed because of the opportunity. If you leave your diamond bracelet on a bar, someone who wouldn't normally rob you will steal it. Just because it's an easy score and they can get away with it. You may have a guy who isn't a rapist pick up a slutty chic and feel she wants it by the way she is dressed and acts...at the very least sexually harass her

Barack Obama is a documented American citizen, keyword being documented. He can produce evidence that he was born in Hawaii. You can not produce evidence that wearing a burka will reduce the likelihood of a woman being raped. You can not produce evidence that women in "slutty clothes" will be treated differently in "most cases", you're using common sense in the way we should only use actual statistics.

Well being a woman...one who has had guys come at me in a way that shouldn't have happened I can say this.

I'm responsible for taking an preventative step I can to insure my safety.

That for me has always included, going with a group of girlfriends to a party, not drinking to the point that I can't consent if I do decide to have sex, as a matter of fact not really sleeping with dudes I just met (I let them know from jump I'm not with the shyt, but to each their own,, at any rate, I'm always VERBAL about what I do and don't want to do because consenting is my responsibility).

When I was attacked (thankfully no foricble intercourse happened), I went to the authorities immediately because it was my responsibility (unfortunately..no one should ever have to have that responsibility but I've known since I was young that life isnt' promised to be fair and I tell my daughters the EXACT same thing...to look out for yourself and look out for your friends).

What I know for sure is all this activism isn't and will not replace parenting. And as a woman there are certain things generations before me always taught me about being a woman and how to care for, protect, watch out for and fight for myself.

I don't defer to looney's who shout SLUTWALK on one hand and VICTIM on another for advice on how the world should work or how I should operate in it.
