People are too entitled over in this part of the world man. Only in western society can a person seriously put themselves in harms way as an exercise of right and privilege. Closest thing to this in the animal kingdom are when squirrels dart in front of cars in the road.

You’ve never seen a hot sexy gazelle stroll them long legs near a den of lions talking about “I should be able to go where I wanna go Craig”

Then they say we gotta teach our young boys to respect women...you can domesticate a lion by why you gonna put a lamb in the same cage it?

Women are equal.....until its time for them to have personal responsibility. Society coddles women's decision making like they're kids. No one can stop a predator from being on the bullshyt, but women have to do their part. Its no different from not wanting a clown to break into your car so you don't keep valuables in plain sight. Sure he may still break in the car, but at least you did your part and took preventive measures.

I don't think Gabby was being singular in her statement. And in this world of twitter outrage, I think context was lost. She simply said "women, we have to do our part too". It sucks but I tell my daughters don't leave her drink unattended if she goes out, don't get in a car with multiple men, go out in a pack, dont go to a guys room with multiple men in there, don't be dense and dress "sexy" and then be dumbfounded when men thoughts adhere to the root word, etc. Gabby didn't say anything wrong, she just did it on the wrong platform and void of context. I hate twitter and everybody's need to give an opinion more than what she said.

I'm glad you brought up that example. What black father hasn't told their son how to act around the police? How you're not supposed to make any sudden movement? How everything should be yes sir and no sir?

Nobody is saying that a women who dresses in a sexually provative manner DESERVES to be raped. We're just telling women to exercise better judgment. Same way every black parent lets their young child know how they should act around cops cause we know they are trying to kill us.

Same thing if you have a daughter you better train her to treat every male as a potential sexual predator. As a result she should never put herself in a position to be raped. Just like our parents taught us how to act around cops so we don't get killed.

This is about preventing bad things from happening. Not making excuses for the criminals who do bad things. Stop flipping this conversation like cacs always try to do.
:hhh:

You dumbass motherfukker. You do know the overwhelming majority of sexual assault is being taken advantage of by a trusted family member.:usure:

Man, some of you guys need some mufukkin help. Provocative clothing isn't a sign that she wants to let some random nikka get it in with her, she could just be wanting to dress like that. If the woman is feeling you, cool, if not, keep it moving. It is not a license to just assume the worst and even if she is, as one would say, a slut, whore, etc..., that still doesn't give authority to put women in compromising situations that could lead up to and not only including rape. No woman in the fukking world is asking to be raped, regardless of the attire she has on, it's the men that needs to get their shyt in order. Rape and assault rarely has anything to do with clothing, it's a power thing. Women can get raped in sweatpants and t-shirts. As a married man, take this grain of advice, look, don't touch then continue on with your day. Some of y'all need mental help, fukking wow.

I fux with Gabby's message. She shouldn't have used the word "responsibility" tho... that was wrong, but overall, I fux with Gabby's message.

...it's a very nuanced discussion that has to be done delicately with daughters in such a way that doesn't erode empowerment or confidence, but also emphasizes pragmatism and sound judgment.
:patrice:

If you're aware that it's a "very nuanced discussion", how are you behind Gabby's message when at face value it lacks nuance? Dressing "modestly" and "classy" does NOT exist, at least in the frame that what you consider modest attire isn't the same as what someone as might consider modest. Just as what you might consider being "provocative/sexual" - vice versa.

And thus lies the issue, not all females who're sexually assaulted dress overtly "sexual"; general excess of skin showing and body-pushing garments, females are sexually assaulted wearing EVERY single type of clothing, be it next-to-nothing or completely covered from head-to-toe.

In other parts of the world women are property, dress accordingly, and are still raped. Difference is that they get out to death or maimed for it. :what:

The hell is wrong with some of you?

I'm starting to see her point and I've decided that I will not be wearing anymore hoodies moving forward as I'd like to do my part to reduce the likelihood of being mistaken for a person who wants to attract the attention of law enforcement.

Yes , me too. I am no longer going to wear ski masks when walking into banks

I'll just put it this way. If I had a daughter and she dressed like that going anywhere, I'd slap her upside her head and tell her to get back in the house and dress more modestly.

If you wear a hoes' uniform, don't be surprised if you get treated like a hoe. The great Dave Chappelle made that statement years ago.
Ca$hville, go and seek some help for your mental illness.

lol, yes. Yes to all of that.

again, she shouldn't have used the word responsibility as I said. And her timing was off. And to tweet that in reply to what Aly said was wrong.

But the content of her message is otherwise fine minus the word responsibility. It's message that needs to be tweeted more often.

Dumb as fukk, cape for rapists brehettes. Lost all respect for Gabby on this one. By her logic, one of them Nickelodeon execs coulda cornered her in an office at this awards show because she dressed like this:

After, she would have to be like "Well, I was kinda asking for it :manny:"
Never thought Gabby was cute but she looking like a snack here

Her message needs to be thrown in the bushes. Never to see the light of day again.
