And like Carmichael, it'll be Donald Glover that'll discontinue it... nobody said FX is cancelling it. But it's not renewed because of everyone's schedule and moving into bigger and better things. You really think Glover is going to back peddle to this show after the status has significantly risen... after ALL of the cast members status has significantly risen. It took a whole two years for them to get to the 2nd season and that was ONLY because of Glover being in Solo, so imagine with everyone have their heavy schedules. And going back and zone into writing and co-directing and producing. And then getting approval regardless of its success. Because it can be another Boondocks situation or another The Chapelle show situation. shyt even another Rick & Morty situation in which you may never know if it'll return. Even how this FINAL episode FELT like a series finale. They pretty much told their story. Everything came full circle at the end. They even brought back the couch and the airport from 1st episode of season one. They came from nothing and now on the verge of doing a European Tour and become international. Having season 3 is ultimately up to Donald Glover. He never made mention of it nor FX announced any renewal of a season. So the belief by most people that it's a wrap.

It might come back if for no other reason than Donald's brother Stephen is getting to eat really well off of it. I would be surprised if the show doesn't come back. I mean they brought Better Things and Baskets back and both shows have much worse ratings and lower critical acclaim.

The show is so surreal that gaps like that only add to it. Darius serves a purpose much greater than a regular weed carrier, crew member etc, and focusing on how he makes money seems almost pointless. His character transcends all that shyt.

As a matter of fact, it's a disservice to just think about this show as being simply a story about a rapper trying to blow up. This show really reminds me of a modern Odyssey of sort, and I think the show takes on more layers when we begin to attach classic archtypes to the characters. In this case, Darius clearly reminds me of a sort of supernatural sage, something close to a Tiresias. We don't give a fukk about how he eats, we tryna see what wisdom and insight the mfer imparts on the audience!


He gets money tho. When Earn needed money, who hooked him up with the dog hustle. Him and Al were going around trying to find a plug:yeshrug:

also, the thing about the gun, he did want to carry it, but he's still on probation after being on house arrest.

Okay, that makes sense. I didn't even know you could leave the country while on probation. I guess cause he's a rapper though. And Darius probably does the drug dealing for Al and they both make money off it. Good thing with selling weed too is that you have your regulars and don't have to sell on the corner.

Donald Glover was set up to headline an animated Deadpool series that he would write and showrun alongside his brother and Stephanie Robinson.

FX canceled it. Donald wrote a fake screenplay throwing shade at FX and Marvel for cancelling it
