The episode wasn’t good breh. Not every one is going to be amazing.

The fact the couch scene triggered so many in here alone should it was accomplishing it's goal. A "meh" episode would be nothing in the episode worth speaking about. It's clear even if they realize it that some are in their feelings after this episode. So it served it's purpose.

There's already a stereotype of black women being angry and not supporting black men, so I don't know why they needed to enforce it the way they did...it came off all wrong. The white girl was saying that she's been there for him since the beginning while the black girl says she don't time for all that? Man...:snoop:

And it seems like the two episodes that's features Van, this girl is like 5 seconds from getting raped. That can't be a coincidence...

Only scene I was a fan of was the pool scene with Darius. This cat is my favorite character on TV right now

watching it this morning, came in here to say the same thing. also doesn't help that this episode was written by a Black man and directed by a white woman.

Nah we ain’t bugging. I wasn’t feeling that shyt.

The issue is, I felt like they TRIED to make it more balanced when the black chick went off saying that the white woman had “opportunities” that she didn’t have. She, as a black woman, doesn’t have the benefit of watching a black man “grow” into his own because she’s busy trying to survive her damn self in a world that treats her, in many instances, even WORSE than that of a black man.

The problem is that they had her embody the “angry black woman” stereotype while she expressed her viewpoint. Which pissed away the entire message, because everyone will be harping on the “loud, neck rolling, angry” part instead of reading between the lines.

It’s especially heinous considering that the show’s writers have gone to great pains in season one to poke fun at, and ultimately dismiss that stereotype. Van called Earn out on that shyt wayyyyyy back in season one (episode 3 Go For Broke)

It could’ve been done MUCH better and as a fan of both Donald Glover and the series, it was dissapointing that they decided to go that route.

Ima rate the episode a 7/10. My lowest rating for an episode.
Interesting take on that but I actually thought it was dope that they handled the scene/topic that way. It'd be one thing if the white chick was patronizing or started the interaction, but the black lady was sitting there on NYE in the house of a dude who is mixed/biracial. She also had a presumably black child (possibly family) her damn self.

Regardless of how one feels about anyone else's relationship, it's incredibly rude to speak on it directly to them. I felt like she definitely had to be the "angry black woman". She ain't have the time to invest in dude before he made it and that's where she gets robbed. That's why she's mad. :yeshrug:

The issue wasn't even that he was with a white girl, it's that he was successful with a white girl. I did find the white girl's response intriguing because she it's clear this isn't the first time a black woman came for her. :mjlol: That's why she ended the entirely interaction with "thank you".

The episodes were gonna stay on the same storyline arc. Last year was the same as this year in that there was a season long arc interrupted by these random episodes.

The last 3 episodes or so have completely deviated from the main story.

The theme has been consistent though, but it's like they stopped the main storyline to do these episodes.
Really ? Where did you read that breh ? Everything I read made it seem like it would be like this as the show isn't really about the struggle of the up and coming artist . I think the connecting theme is the robbing season not the episodes being all connected.

Right! She only gave a fukk about the white chic being with dude because he had money. She was acting like they was equally yoked and that she was rich just like he was. She was broke and mad at Becky for having the patience to be with him while he was a community college nikka.

You on payroll?

Having something to talk about doesn’t equal a good episode at all breh. That’s not how the shyt works. If that’s what it took, Love & Hip Hop would be winning Emmys.
