I'm not too concerned with understanding the Teddy/Benny dynamic but one social commentary I caught lb the second watch is how complicit we the fans were in the of Michael Jackson. Dude literally had almost zero privacy. Teddy is converting their home into a museum, there's a mannequin exhibit of his father and it all sounds fukking crazy, but isn't that what happened?

All the pain and trauma MJ endured in his childhood home are up for public consumption today. It's basically a tribute to Joe Jackson's abuse whether we realize it or not and ensured that nothing about his life could ever be private or off limits.

funny thing is, atlanta could totally go the formulaic route about the fukkery coming up in the rap game and still be pretty successful/have longevity. from this episode, they're clearly trying to experiment and take risks from the standard path.

the acting was top notch this episode, but for the many points they were trying to convey, i thought the episode was a little convoluted. almost like if you tried to condense get out into 30 minutes.

the sacrifice taken to be incredibly exceptional, though... MJ gave us so much musically, arguably the GOAT... yet died alone, isolated and maligned... :mjcry:

For some reason the episode about Teddy reminded me of an episode of The Flash, Darius is very kind-hearted in good spirited kind of like Barry Allen, and I really felt the speech at the end was more him trying to save Teddy than him trying to save himself like some real legit good guy superhero shyt

If Paperboy was there to get like old recording equipment he'd see the situation and be like nope and walk out and I feel like Gambino would be there through the ostrich egg situation then run out screaming

for the first 30 or so seconds i thought Stanfield was also playing the Jacko dude. I was about to be in awe of dude's acting (already am) then i realized it was Glover, and was in awe of his.

I don't know why but I'm only now coming around on giving Donald Glover his proper due... i still kinda don't want to. Dude is a beast, but i don't want to admit it.

Gambino’s legendary writing, music, film dude gonna be looked at as one of the goats
