As the old saying goes, ain't nothing new under the sun. Yes, these designer drugs moved over from rave culture, but that's a clear indication of the type of drug use that's prevalent across an entire generation, not just hip hop.

When in fact gangster rap became popular the murder rate started declining around, for example from 2200 year in early 90s in NY to under 500 by the end of the decade. As gangster rap exploded during that period.

Back in your day you had a crackhead uncle, another uncle doing 20yrs in supermax, a cousin who was being molested by another uncle and everyone just turned a blind eye, and mad other family members living their lives in the bottom of a bottle of whiskey.
