I liked him until around 03 when he got fat for awhile. His matches sucked after that time. He looks great these days but all his matched are still fukking awful.

Oh I forgot, he changed his shirt too. Never elevated his game, his character was the same, & he rode everybody else's coattail. No matter what shirt he wore, he was always about himself. This dude been around since the early 90's & gave us the same bullshyt since Bush #2 was in office.

Sting switched his look, changed his entire persona, & added to his moveset. The only thing the Connecticut Cripple added to his moveset was the sledgehammer & that was in the late 90's. Ever since then, all the way to the last match that he had with Shawn, Taker, & Kane (who even changed more than Quad H) has been giving us the same old shıt.
Alvarez is that you?

I'm counting 4 but at the very least you can say 3 times he has reinvented himself

You might not like the gimmicks, and that's fine, but if we gonna count going from Surfer/Wrestler to Disgruntled Crow, to Red and Black Crow, BACK to Crow, then we gotta count Trips shyt and hell we might even be missing a few gimmicks.

Taker has been Deadman and American Badass....all those other gimmicks were really just sub gimmicks if we wanna be real

Jericho though...I will not speak ill of one of the GOATS...I just wish he'd go home and see his kids every once and a while :mjcry:

That's why he has all the time to think about reinventing himself... he's never home to be distracted by things like a "family":troll:

Can't even believe I read that shyt. :russ:

This clown really said that people were sick of Rock and Austin in 1999 and wanted Triple H in their spot, when it was the literal exact opposite.

Austin was out here playing face in one of the dumbest angles of the 1990s and crowds were treating his presence like the Second Coming weekly. No star that has debuted since 2000 has gotten weekly pops like Austin. Zero, none, not Cena, not Punk, not Bryan, etc. I've never seen anything like Austin's popularity in 98-99.

Meanwhile, Rock spent a good portion of 1999 being used to get office projects over (Hunter, Billy Gunn) while completely eclipsing them in star power, promo ability, charisma, etc. and getting pops that were just short of Austin's (despite, again, being booked nowhere NEAR as strongly as Austin) because the crowd actively refused to see him as lesser in any way than the guys that kept beating him.

All this, while Triple H was turned heel to begin with because they couldn't figure out a way for him to not be the least over act in DX (there's a RAW in early 1999 where Billy Gunn of all people EASILY outpops Triple H. Like, it's not even remotely close. Don't let WWE tell you any differently: X-Pac, The Outlaws, AND fukkING CHYNA were all more over than Hunter by quite the margin). Hunter then turns heel, gets less over, beats everybody repeatedly (including The Rock), runs even in a match with Steve Austin that shows the preposterous gap in their overness and star power, and remains unover as a heel. In fact, he does not get over until they have the guy beat everybody, concoct a fake rape/abduction/marriage scheme to seize power in the company, and have Mick Foley (don't even get me started on how Foley did so much more with so much less in 98-99) kill himself repeatedly.

I've been banging this drum repeatedly as I intermittently look back at the Attitude Era, but the mere implication that Triple H was anywhere close to Austin or The Rock as a star is fukking preposterous.
