I asked that because he said current NY rappers are dressed like Jimmy Jazz mannequins. The shyt rappers wear now Jimmy Jazz doesn’t even carry.

But I see why you emotionally attached here that’s your boy.

I’m from NY how would I look like talking about the GoGo scene in D.C. like I know the ins and outs and nuances and history of it :comeon:

None of those reasons is why NY “fell off”.
“jimmy jazz mannequin” is supposed to mean they try too hard to match. like the shyt jim jones and fab tend to do. you took that too literally being overanalytical. and if you have lived in dc for a long time you can be critical about their gogo. who gives a fukk if you grew up there or not. there are people who do entire books about places they are not from its called National Geographic. fukk are you talking about

Whatever he meant it was poorly worded and just not true. NYC is still the fashion capital. The trends of todays hip hop many of them come from NYC. Many of these brands worn today throughout the game were worn or being popularized in NYC a decade prior.

The “Jimmy Jazz mannequin” Jim Jones actually fathered a lot of todays fashion trends.

It would be hard for an outsider to authentically speak on the hip hop culture of a city especially a person with era biases. Hip hop never stopped in NYC. Hip hop is youth culture. From the lite feet era up to todays drill era an outsider can’t really speak on it.

Con got a point tho. A few years ago, Ebro Flex and allem was on some "yall gon fail" type shyt to the new nikkas who came out from like 14'-16'. That whole "bars" rant an allat shyt. Them nikkas was pressing hard to get uzi, yachts, 21 etc 9ff the air throwing subs, but now in 22 the nikkas w/ the bars u were asking for, u slight em
Yep, major and minor leagues. I vividly remember him ranting about this.

He's right...but he's not the likable one here so yall will attack him for telling this kid the truth.

Flex is a DJ...he plays what's moving and the people want to hear in the club/radio, what do they expect him to play? Slay was more of the type of dude that would play that slow, overly violent, no bassline shyt just to support them dudes. Flex aint looking to support (unless you drop him a bag, lol), he's looking to play what the people react to. He'll let you get a freestyle off or sumn tho, which is a huge look if you make it one.

Flex pisses me off. During that whole Banks freestyle he's on his phone not in the moment.

"I don't give a fukk about Funk Master Flex/ funk Master Flex don't give a fukk about me" - Kool Keith

Keith ended him back around 2004 with that one on the song jealous.

Nice digging up posts without context and cutting parts out

That was another post of me explaining to non-NY’ers the dynamic in NYC and how Tekashi couldn’t get popping here and popped overseas and around the nation and internet first. Around that time y’all was on y’all anti-NYC shyt. During his whole snitching saga I never “defended” 69. Foh.
