AND? That further proves the point :sas2:
The discussion with me and Finesse was about NY.

Several Tri State posters already co-signed me.

And even nationally despite not being the star that Rocky is French has had the stronger mainstream presence.

Lol bro you can’t disagree we live here we know the culture what’s getting played outside what’s getting played on the radio.

Rocky is not a radio artist or an artist that was really getting play like that at functions a good chunk of his music is experimental. Really after his debut album that had smashes like Fn problems his presence fell off significantly.

Mainstream aspects as in hit singles, features, and Billboard entries. Being played at clubs, the functions, out cars.

And what state is buffalo in?

:mjlol:
Yeah…by the way I have never heard their shyt being played on the radio in Buffalo either

It’s straight mainstream shyt and throwbacks

I haven’t been back up there since Johnny P’s Caddy came out so maybe they play that

Make a list of the A$AP Rocky songs that was played in NY outside

A$AP Rocky has entire studio albums where not a single song connected with the masses here

then why do many rappers follow him. you sound like an old bitter nikka mad he didnt do it first
Who follows him is irrelevant

That guy is at least 5-8 years older than me and is from Bmore not NY. I don’t want to run a retro hip hop page about old NY rappers and drug dealers bro I’m good. :russ:

This guy didn’t come of age when NY “fell off” so he can’t speak on the factors that led to it and how NY reinvented itself back to relevance. He is an outsider. He doesn’t know what the youth was on 2007-2012 here.

The second point he made is terrible. Has he ever even stepped foot in a Jimmy Jazz? What current NY rappers are dressed like Jimmy Jazz mannequins? The current uniform of the rap game is a bunch of shyt NY nikkas were already wearing 10 years ago like BB Simon and Moncler. Pop Smoke was fly but not particular unique in the way he dressed in comparison to other NY rappers.

Not even sure why he’s bringing up 80’s rappers like Rakim, LL, Slick Rick. There’s been dozens of new fashion trends in NY since the late 80’s and even shyt from then has been revived and died again. Just a few years ago Brooklyn nikkas were wearing Puma suits, MCM backpacks, Alexander McQueen scarfs and shyt. The guy still dresses like it’s 1988 in 2022 and isn’t from NY he can’t speak on NY fashion.

I asked that because he said current NY rappers are dressed like Jimmy Jazz mannequins. The shyt rappers wear now Jimmy Jazz doesn’t even carry.

But I see why you emotionally attached here that’s your boy.

I’m from NY how would I look like talking about the GoGo scene in D.C. like I know the ins and outs and nuances and history of it :comeon:

None of those reasons is why NY “fell off”.
