The move would only make some sense if we're contenders and he was the last missing piece. Draft value wise most centers are usually found outside the top 10. Plus, those centers are on rookie contracts, so you do have flexibility. Out of the centers below I don't think anybody is taking Poeltl over him or paying much more than them,There's not much of a difference between a guy like Poeltl and a geriatric Dwight Howard, besides a $78 mil contract and you know what

Again, how could Poeltl be worth a top 6 protected pick when you can easily find somebody in the draft as a late lottery pick to 2nd round. Value wise it just doesn't make sense to give up that much for Poeltl when center is a position where you can draft outside of lottery or pick up one to fill in as a free agent
