Facts.
Mavs white fans and media want to pin it 100% on Nico because they have certain "beliefs" about a Black man's ability to run a front office.
Listening to local radio, and white hosts/callers etc., single out Nico and never mention Nike, Silver/NBA, Adelson or Dumont. These whites are trying to convince everyone that Nico acted solo and just used his hate of Euros to trick Adelson into dumping Luka.
This is why the Mavs could never get top shelf FA before Luka. Dallas whites try to act like they're not racist, but the dog whistling here has been no joke. Every time you bring up Adelson, they try to focus it back on Nico. Honestly I'm almost happy these front-running azz Gen Z fans are mad. I was a fan when the team was trash and owned by Perot. These fools only became fans when Dirk was entering his prime and because he's white.
If Nico was a white boy, they'd all be focused on Adelson.

all of the main players Kyrie, AD, now Luka have been selected to play FOR Lebron James in their prime. 2 of them got him rings, now it's Luka's turn.
Nico is ultimately responsible for this.
They were entertaining trading Luka before the new owners even came on board. There were folks within the organization that didn't think he was a franchise player, and truth be told, probably the only thing from stopping them from trading Luka any sooner was that Cuban wouldn't have allowed it.

This team was built around Luka and Nico gave up a lot of draft capital to do it.
Luka and Kyrie were the primary ballhandlers and creatives on the perimeter, especially Luka who constantly setup teammates. We just needed shooters and we got it with Klay and Grimes.
Spencer, Exum and Naji were brought in to alleviate some ballhandling duties but Luka and Kyrie drove the ship.
This trade makes absolutely no fukking sense.
This is 100% on ownership; Nico is just the face for it. He might have gotten sick of Luka personally but trading a player of this magnitude doesn't happen without ownership pushing for and agreeing to it.
I think it's as simple as a MAGA family is used to getting whatever they want and didn't want to pay Luka $300+ million, even though they spent $3.5 billion on the fukking team. They are completely out of their depth with zero feel or insight into owning a sports team.
