i hate the tipping culture. put the entire price of the meal plus service in my fukking bill. tipping is entitled white culture, i heard some dumb ass cac claim that anything less than 35% tip is cheap. fukk em.

that's why i have a problem with eating out. you're giving them extra money for them to bring you a plate, refill a cup, and ask you if you need anything, meanwhile, they're probably spitting in your food and stirring your drink with a dikk

A lot of restaurants do include the tip mandatory, I assume you probably haven't been to any classy joint that may do that.

Honestly, some people should just stay at Taco Bell.

I took a chick out to eat once and she was shocked at my tipping 20%, and said her family never tips unless someone has a couple singles to throw on the table. Come on. These people working hard to serve and make food, and they don't get paid shyt. The tips keep them going.

I had to live on tips for a while so I know what time it is.

Right after college I was living with this chick that used to sell crack. I made her quit - well I told her if she is coming up in my spot then she can't bring that s*** in. She went from crack money to waitress money. I was paying the rent, electric, and all that and I basically took her dough from the waitress job and got all the every day s*** - like food. You shoulda seen us when she came home with $16. I would be PISSED. When she came home with $75 it was like "WORD!". So I understand exactly what they go through.

Always have threads about tipping and they always go the same way.

The problem with tipping is that we've gotten to the point where it's expected. If you don't leave a tip, or don't tip a certain % that automatically makes you a bad person. The tip is no longer earned, like I said it's expected. So it's not a tip, it's a mandatory service fee. Not completely mandatory cause you can still not pay, but you'll have to deal with possible backlash from the staff and/or your peers. We're being pressured into tipping, instead of the pressure being on the waiter to give good service.

Because of this waiters have a false sense of entitlement which leads to situations like you see in the OP. They don't have to bust their ass cause they know that tip is coming regardless. In the end our retarded tipping system leads to worse service for us overall, but people still support it because that's just how we do things.

Like just because my meals 60 instead of 20 I'm supposed to tip more even though the waiter does the exact same thing? Just so I can hit some arbitrary percentage? Retarded. There is no logical explanation anyone can give to support this. It's all driven by emotion.

If you give anybody more than $5-10 for bringing your food to the table and refilling your cup, you are a dumbass. Hotel room service is the worst. Them fools will stand there waiting like a lost puppy when all they did was ride up the service elevator. 20 tables a night at $5 a piece on top of minimum wage is more money than a lotta people with real jobs make.



I aint got no love for these restauraunts. I will put small saucers in to-go boxes, ask for extra bread for the midnight snack, and ask for a refill in a to-go cup on my way out the door (before I leave the tip).

Like I've stated before nothing is stopping waitressss to get paid the minimum wage instead they will try to gamble and make below min wage and top it up with tips sorry I don't play that game.

I`m with you on that, if service is awful and I get an attitude, the tip is going to be very low, honestly that will only make them a better worker. Don't do poor work and expect rewards.
