shyt was horrible at the beginning and Vince was willing to leave them looking as goofy as they did on Day 1. It's a credit to them that they got themselves over that well.

Vince seriously thought they would get over with the happy-dancing preacher gimmick. Like, he was stunned when it bombed.

They said it themselves on Jericho's podcast.

It's the usual "smark" gimmick that gets over for a few months.

This will end up just like
-The Ryder Revolution
-Brodus Clay
-Mizdow
-Bolieve
-#HEELZiggler
-Bad News Barrett
-Cody's Mustache
-Stone Cold Alicia Fox
-And every other short lived run that people went crazy for, and then completely forgot about.
Half of those weren't even that over and the other half were never given much of a shot in the first place.

I still can't get over Big E's preacher voice. he sounds like a white dude trying to sound black. these dudes are awful

:snoop: :why: Listen to their talk is Jericho interview. His dad was a preacher.

Personally, I've been down since day one. Do y'all realize how hard it is to get a reaction with these apathetic crowds? Like someone mentioned, Rocky Maivia got shyt on bad. I felt bad for him at WM 13 but he recovered.

This is wrestling where a terrible gimmick can ruin your career, but also salvaging something out of nothing can help you further your career.

I think New Day has helped all 3 big time in the fact that they are apart of the show every week and are getting mic time every week. This is the best use of these guys RIGHT NOW and I think can help Big E and Kofi in singles runs when they inevitably break up.

They are very entertaining, they are good wrestlers and no matter what anyone says about the gimmick, it gets people involved. The crowd has fun when they were out there. You can be mad at how the group started and the stupidity of really trying to make them faces with a gimmick like that, but they've been a great team, have great double team moves and are constantly getting a reaction.

They've turned a shyt gimmick into something sustainable and they can go many different directions with it. I agree with those who said Kofi is shining the brightest but thats because he had been so stale for so long we didn't know if he could play a heel character but he's doing it really well and not going over board. Big E could always wrestle in my eyes and know he's bringing that Twitter personality to the ring and I think he can get over on his own. He'll probably never be a world champion, but IC/US champ is a good spot for him.

son, I don't care about this shyt enough to listen to a podcast or learn their backgrounds and personal lives, I take the shyt as face value. when E was with dolph and AJ he still sounded white.

Half of them like Brodus Clay and Cody's mustache weren't even that over to begin with, and some like Alicia, BNB, and Mizdow the WWE pulled the plug before they had a chance to fizz out. Yeah the gimmick isn't gonna last forever but the point is that 3 superbly talented wrestlers turned around what was initially a really bad/lukewarm reception. You know who else were able to do that shyt? :jawalrus: The Rock and Kurt Angle come to mind. This could potentially be a stepping stone to greater things for the 3 guys. Granted with how weird WWE booking is there's an iffy chance that'll happen but at least they've unearthed the potential in Kofi, E, and Woods. I mean BNB was almost gonna win MITB before injury fukked him over.

Ryder, Brodus, Bo Dallas, Sandow, they might get over with their gimmicks but beneath it all none of them are really that special and they're all lacking in some areas. Kofi E and Woods have proven to be steady hands in the ring and also entertaining on the mic and in segments. They also got good looks and can be creative without totally relying on the crowd and smarks.

prolly one of the biggest kofi and E fan here, and even i can say the gimmick at first was basura. THEY will tell you that themselves, they been wanting to be heels VInce insisted on making them corny babyfaces

but never doubted their talent, once the cards fell in place they shined :blessed:

@Green Ranger and I been tellin' y'all, kofi is long overdue for that main title brehs
