The same people talking about "illegals" or "my great grandparents became citizens 'the right way'" never talk about how it happened.

The Constitution is called a living document. It‘s just supposed to give you a foundation to build on. It’s not meant to be changed on a whim of whoever is in power or influence. That’s how we got prohibition.
Im saying Congress. The people we vote for to pass laws change make the change to federal law about birth tourism or anchor babies without changing the Constitution.
It doesn’t require the hurdle of amending the Constitution. The Republicans just want to set precedences for future court cases involving immigration.
It either takes 2/3 or 3/4 of states to ratify an amendment. There have been countless proposed amendments, but the fact that we only have 27 speaks to how hard that threshold is to reach. Not to mention the 13-15th amendments had to be coerced (southern states had to ratify the 13 amendment to get back in the Union after the Civil War) and the 14-15 were passed during reconstruction while southern states had military governors and many ex-rebel terrorists we’re still barred from political action.
At this point I don’t trust the 50 states, especially with how red the states voted. If Trump gets some amendments passed, we are truly fukked.
