From personal experience...my daughter's mother is from Windsor and all her fam is in Toronto and Hamilton. We were together for 8 years so I've been to the "worst" areas of Toronto multiple times...spent weeks at a time out there. It ain't shyt "hood" about Toronto other than the lower income housing and "project" areas that are similar to what you could find in NY, Chicago, Detroit...ect. You got your petty weed, coke and pill dealers, a couple niccas pimping, a few stick up kids...but overall if you're like me (born and raised in Flint, lived in Detroit) Toronto is LIGHT. Which is actually a good thing, but a lot of Toronto niccas want their city to be some kind of war zone to show that shyt is "real" out there. Toronto is safe as hell. I guess if you came shinning out there trying to floss on some late night shyt a nicca might get you, but that's almost everywhere. Overall it ain't shyt "wild" or dangerous about Toronto.

Thats all of north american kids who come from regular places. They want to be seen as having gone through struggle so they can tell a story, instead of being thankful they don't have to tell that kind of story. I've seen too many dudes from good families go down a dark path to prove they are down. Idiots.

@Patrick Kane it depends on what you consider a hood.

Jane/Finch = A working class area to us, and a ghetto to y'all...due to upward adjustment and general quality of life.

There are areas that are not considered dangerous in the US that are FAR more dangerous than your most dangerous areas...that's why we think like this. Mind you, I walked through every hood in that city at NIGHT ALONE...and nothing happened to a nikka with a loud speaker boombox and bright colored clothing...nikkas weren't aggressive/territorial like they are in other places. I can't walk through Park Heights (Baltimore) and do that...My speaker and sneakers would inspire nikkas to take them...and I'd have to fight for whatever I had with my life.

This is true. There isn't a single low income neighborhood in Toronto that is too dangerous to walk through at night as a black man. Stick ups happen but they're not the norm at all.
