He did spots every week. He did a run up the top rope spot on cue...he did the corner smash up thing over and over again...went back to the Germans all the time...just a formula guy. People think of his Amateur/Olympic pedrigree and try to attach to his matches but he wasn't technical at all.

It's amazing how in your mind that still constitutes an insult

No insult. It's just a reality..take it or leave it.

t.
Being a formula guy doesnt make him a spot worker. Every worker has a formula. His series vs Lesnar, Guerrero, Samoa Joe & HBK are classic examples of Angle's in ring greatness

Yeah but they don't depend on spots like Angle though. Cena is very much a spot guy too...he does the same damn routine and you know it's coming from a MILE away.

His match with Michaels..all of them? Selling went out the window for Superman kick outs.

His matches with Lesnar? A little bit of ground wrestling with some fukkery mixed in...he finally went over clean in that Triple Threat and the Summerslam match. But the Iron Man match was fukking goofy.....goodness gracious. It's no wonder no one ever brings it up.

Eddie outworked him but that's to be expected..he's a world class worker that dumbs down stuff for the WWE audience.

Man i know you not comparing the in ring ability of Kurt Angle to John Cena, and im a huge fan of both. Angle & Cena are nowhere near the same level in the ring

Angle is better than Cena because he actually sells for longer periods and without needing to Goldberg his comebacks to get his heat back. He has thrown selling out the window to hit spots out of nowhere and to use that anklelock as a counter. Alot of that is what defined the Michaels' matches.

It's all subjective. No wrong answers.

So whose actual ring work, in their prime, did I most enjoy watching? Real close between Benoit, Eddie and Macho.
Who looked to me like a total natural wrestling athlete, like they were born to wrestle? To me, it's between Eddie, Macho and HBK.

So overall I'll go with Eddie and Macho in a tie for the win, honourable mention to HBK and Benoit.
