Spence looked damn good. Nice body attack, but also nice power punching to the head. Now, I think he needs to fight someone who's a rough and tumble type dude, so I think Ghost (or no joke Ch:mjlol:ves) would be best next for him. I don't agree that he'd run through all the top welters right now. Someone who crowds, punches from weird angles, anyone else that's a good body puncher. The idea that he'd beat Manny rn is ridiculous.

However, Spence is a legit 147'er and could easily be up to 154lbs, so he will give a lot of the 140 guys turned 147 trouble, plus he has next level skill set. Will be interesting to see who they pair him against next, you'd think one legit step up fight next, before a fight for a belt. Dude looks good but there are a few things you'd like to see change before a fight against the top level. For example, what does Spence do when he catches a Brook cross while trying to throw a body punch? Same w other top welters. But all in all dude looks like he's ready for top level.

Was thinking the same. Brook is a physically strong Welter & throws sharp straight punches particularly with his right hand. That's a 50-50 fight where I slightly lean towards Brook because of what he was able to do with Porter. That fight showed me how strong Brook is because if he wasn't Porter would've steam rolled him

He has hand problems righg? @patscorpio called it months ago.

i mentioned that as a reason when @King P asked brehs to list up and coming fighters in order based on their potential and why i put Verdejo last in my list...too young and early in his career to be having problems like that..leaky defense issues he has can be fixed..but hands = question mark

speaking of ricans though...pedraza had the foxwoods crowd lit...they fukked with him..hard...2 fights nearly broke out in the crowds during that fight with smith on nationalistic shyt lol

I would have never thought but makes sense... I still think the trade off of this then to have a prime Margarito around is best for him:ehh:

BoxRec - Felix Verdejo

Why is he fighting again so soon?

6/11? push that shyt back...

The Evangelista bout seems like a tune-up as there is talk of Verdejo fighting Mexico’s Jose Felix Jr. on a Top Rank card in New York City on June 11, which coincides with the yearly Puerto Rican Day holiday and parade.

:mjlol: AB ain't gonna take that.

You think Terrace Crawford is a better match up?

I think TC is a far better boxer than AB and maybe a level or two ahead of Spence. Just when you factor in the experience alone.

Spence and TC both beat AB fairly easily imo.

TC and Spence is a great fight imo, but still a bit early for that. Gotta let that shyt marinate a little. Has potential to be a big fight.

found that post i referenced

Imam
Joshua - my only complaint is his physique...i dont want him to go into frank bruno territory but so far he carries it well.but needs to cut some more.he should be champ by 2017
Spence
Pedraza - he won a title; good boxing skills but i feel he admires his work too much and takes his foot off the gas which is why i have him under the top 3..have to see if that changes tomorrow night
J Rock
Lubin
Valdez
Verdejo - *edit* gotta explain; verdejo being last is nothing talent wise but dude is already having hand issues..hand issues limits potential to me..so hes a question mark

i need imam to hurry up and fight again and live up to that massive potential i think he has..hes throwing off my list :beli:

Spence looked really good last night but the caveat was he did it against a guy who couldn't bust a grape with a jackhammer. His next step up needs to be against a guy who he is at risk of catching some heat from.

Cunningham almost made me drop my support of local fighters stance. Dude was just pitiful.

And I have lost all respect for Marcus Browne. He knows damn well he didn't win that fight and to at like he did is some bullshyt and to then not even entertain the idea of a rematch with Kaladzjic just makes Browne look like a ho.

I was just using Brook as an example, and I think it's more like a 70/30 fight in Brooks favor. You can add in different scenarios for each fighter--what would he do if he was trying to crowd Porter like he did trapped in the cage? What would he do if he tried to attack the body without moving his head against Danny swift? What would he do trying to attack a southpaw who can punch etc. etc.?

It's not even talking down on Spence, he's in a comparable position to say #BeterBeast right now. More so triple g, destroy many B- level opponents (Although Chris was his first), and not have any experience against the top level.

Look at who they beat to get the titles. C'mon Patrick

right now those 2 are living up to their potential breh..thats what the list is about...pedraza would be lower if he wasn't a champion by the time i made that list...joshua was also an olympic gold medallist, valdez was not..potential breh
