First half of the season is MOTW, but when they start focusing on the mythology in the second half those episodes make more sense.
It's not like the first half is bad, it's just setting up something and you're not aware that it's happening.

finally started watching this from the beginning. only 3 episodes in but it seems alright. especially while 
some of the science behind it seems a lil far fetched even for a show like this but whatever. i'll keep it at it since everyone says it gets better and im a sucker for sci fi

i might go back and watch all of x files after i get done with fringe. i barely remember that show. i tried watching an episode a month or so ago and it seemed dated. idk, all i remember is that xfiles movie they had was basura.

breh x files is no where near as consistent as fringe was. prometheus made more sense then both x files movies. the x files theme music though

I'm going to assume you're saying this based on "Fringe" being fresh in your mind, and "X-Files" being completely forgotten. I suggest you go back and watch "X-Files" again.
There was 5 "X-Files" seasons of non-stop crack before the first movie even came out. And the first movie "Fight The Future" made perfect sense.
Matter of fact, the show didn't really fall off completely until half way through season 7. Seasons 1-6 are certified classic TV. "Fringe" is the type of shyt you watch because everything else is between seasons.
I can't even believe I'm seriously sitting here discussing "X-Files" vs "Fringe". shyt is like "Transformers" vs "Go-Bots".

Season 1 is a tough pill to swallow, but it gets a lot better. The show starts to gain its footing toward the end of the first season.
Edit: Think about the fact that show was on fox and was moved to a friday slot, and still survived.... that says alot

I love Fringe but X-Files is a better show and it's not even close. Fringe falls off hard starting season 4 and season 5 seemed like they just put something together for the sake of ending the show properly.
