I see Fringe is on netflix now. What say you brehs? Is it worth watching?

Nah.

Better off watching "X-Files" if it's on there.

Or "House of Cards" if you haven't already.

Or "Utopia" or "Luther", but those aren't on Netflix.

I liked it there are so few decent scifi shows out there for a sci-fi fan to skip Fringe imo.
Luther is on Netflix by the way great show

215 Uptown!
First season of Fringe is just like first season of Supernatural. It's mostly monster of the week with the mytharc finally getting into place near the end.

Season 2 on is where the show gets really good! Season 3 is where the show hit it's peak. Im glad it actually did get a actual ending though and i was satisfied with the finale.

But yes all in all it's worth watching.

I would watch season 1 just because it lays the groundwork for season 2 and you need to see it, especially the finale to appreciate what happens in season 2.

Like others have said the 1st season has a lot of procedural elements, but when they started focusing on the mythology the show really took over.

John Nobe consistently gave one of the best performances on TV as Walter Bishop that was always overlooked. Anna Torv was great as well.

Plus my girl Astrid :ohlawd:

The show has some similarities to the X-files but it definitely has its own identity. It might come off like monster of the week but unlike X-files all the shyt connects in the end and the pay off is amazing. It's definitely worth checking out on Netflix.

Never understood the hype for "Fringe". shyt is an "X-Files" knock off with inferior villains, monster-of-the-week eps, and acting. 2 eps in the first season alone steal plot lines directly from eps of "X-Files"....if I actually sat here and thought about it, several other eps borrow from "X-Files", too.

They even hired one of the best "X-Files" writers (Darin Morgan) to act as producer on the show, and wasn't even smart enough to have him actually write an ep.

The only edge I'll give "Fringe" is it actually handled it's mythology somewhat coherently and ended well. "X-Files" mythology was :whoo: for the first 5, 6 seasons then 7-9 it turned into :dwillhuh:

It's the type of show where you gonna get a different answer depending on who you ask. If it seems like a show you like based on what you've seen/read about it, I would recommend it.

It's entertaining. The show doesn't get really good until it became more serialized. I could not really fukk with that first season
