Looks like Will is trying to throw the old cast a bone. I could see a show built around Carlton and/or Ashley taking in some kid from the streets. Jeffrey is still alive and the Carlton character is probably bigger now in terms of popularity than he was back then. Carlton would probably a lawyer like his dad working his way up to judge

They would have better success at rebooting the whole TNBC era with Hang Time, City Guys or Saved by the Bell. But since it isn't on Netflix or syndicated its hard to figure if there any interest.

I don't understand why they trying to remake something that is ICONIC as the Fresh Prince and think people are gonna accept it. If they gonna really remake this and flop they might as well add Timothy DeLaGhetto to the cast:

I think you have Jaden as a Carlton-esque type kid getting raised by Will, the complete opposite. On paper, that's an interesting relationship. You have Carlton be a main character and have Will and Carlton occasionally clash because of the personalities of Uncle and Nephew matching better than Son/Dad

Seems pretty good since Jaden does seem like a guy that can't possibly have any other role that should involve the rest of the cast. Planning around Jaden is gonna be hard enough, not to mention Willow (who I definitely expect to see)

Nah, you could still have a comedy with a sad premise. My favorite type of comedies are dark ( i.e. Dark Horse, Idiocracy). It could be Everyone Hates Chris, mixed with Curb Your Enthusiasm, mixed with Archie Bunker.

Doesn't have to be riches to rags, just some type of turmoil in the house at Be-lair so he has to move.

Yeah, he had a sitcom developed, before he got big of course... I wanna say it was called The Big House. Don't think it ever aired though. It was basically the opposite of Fresh Prince I think.

You can't take an era and try to re-create it in another era. The Fresh Prince was more than just a TV show. It represented an era. It represented some people high school years. Rebooting that show would be like trying to reboot the early mid 90's. It's impossible.

And just like Ghostbusters will flop, so would this.
