Wife had us turn to it yesterday randomly to which I almost begrudgingly did so, but was pleasantly surprised. I liked it and LOL-ed literally quite a few times on each ep, so I'm cool with supporting/watching it the rest of the season. Perhaps I'll set the dvr for it. Moms thought it was pretty funny too, much to all of our astonishment cuz she was the loudest one in the room against wanting to watch it. She said it's funnier than Black-ish off those two eps. alone and thinks it'll do better than that, lol.

asian parents are just strict as fukk and don't take any nonsense. my cousins are halfasian and their pops didn't fukk around. if I got a bad grade my mom would be okay with it as long as i "tried as hard as I could"A good chunk of us aren't the "geniuses" other races make us out to be. While most kids were watching Saturday morning cartoons, we were up in the morning taking extra math classes, Mandarin classes, english classes, science classes, and whatnot. It's simply a matter of asian kids getting forced to put in the extra work by their parents, which is why so many of us did well in the "trouble" subjects back in the day.
Parents instill the importance of useful education at a very early age, unlike cac parents who tell their kids they can do whatever they wanna do.
Only watched the first ep, but it actually wasn't so bad, despite Huang's essay on him feeling like he sold out. Was expecting a lot worse.
Randall getting emasculated like that tho kinda pisses me off.

i remember i told my friends that i was grounded instead of telling them i was going to another fukking school after school
i used to work at a place like that, felt bad keeping those lil motherfukkers in a cubicle doing reading fundamentals 3 levels below their grade
we'd also get lil asian kids 6 years younger than them that were 10x as advanced, makin em feel all stupid. i used to wonder why those asian parents even sent their kids there
god forbid we discover one of the asian kids is actually dumb
