I listened again and I'm def feelin this more.

I stopped comparing it to Pinata/Bandana and considered it more of an extension of Fetti

This is a damn good album, no wasted words, all meat, no gristle

Gibbs lowkey has the best discography of the 2010s imo. I don't know if he has any timeless classics but the versatility and consistency is unmatched. The only so so projects being Freddie and that static selektah joint

I don’t need to give a list or ranking, I can just tell you Wayne has been simply average for almost his entire career, and fans of his put him in an elite category just cause he spammed his music more than any other artist, and cause he called himself the best rapper alive. You can’t call yourself “best rapper alive” when even “peak lyrical” Wayne was no better than Fabolous. Was anyone calling Fabolous a GOAT:gucci:??? The only people that put Wayne as some wordsmith during his peak were dudes that were coming of age in 2006. If you were an adult, he was some a dude that made some bangers and nothing more:manny: a 13 year old very well thinks 6 minute freestyles of crappy punchlines and laughing for effect are dope. Wayne has a tier 1 battery pack and work ethic, but he’s lyrically a tier 4 artist.

Peak Wayne wasn't better than Fab? Carter 1 and 2 were average? He didn't have a run where he was AT LEAST top 3 in the game? I don't even like da nikka but:stopitslime:

Ok heres my review.

As you all know I am not the biggest fan of Gibbs maybe this project will change that?

1.1985-Decent intro track. No memorable bars or anything that stands out. 5/10
2.God Is Perfect-Excellent way to start off the album. Gibbs was flowing his ass off on this. 10/10
3.Scottie Beam ft.Rick Ross-Great beat. Lol at dude Rick Ross to throw shots at Jeezy. As for Rick Ross, its fukking Rick Ross nothing special about his music at all anymore. 6/10
4.Look at Me-Meh this was obviulsy an interlude. It serves its purpose 5/10
5.Frank Lucas ft. Benny the Butcher-Best track on the album hands down. Benny massacred his verse and proved he is the better rapper
"Nah, my finger never could point

You know p*ssy best when it's moist "

10/10

6.Something to Rap About ft. Tyler, the Creator-Great smooth beat. Freddie went but Tyler was just kinda there. i mean he wasn't ad but he wasn't good. Gibbs verse was solid enough to give it a 7. 7/10
7.Baby $Hit-I don't how to describe this one but the beat is great and Nothing bad about the rapping so yeah. 6/10
8.Babies & Fools ft. Conway the Machine-My third favorite song of this project. Conway destroyed the beat. So much in fact I flat out skip Gibbs verse and just listen to Conways part. 9/10
9.Skinny Suge-My least favorite track off the album. Them coke bars just aren't hiting it. 4/10
10.All Glass-Solid way to end the album. "Feed a hoe like Andre 3000" Thats a great line. 8/10

Overall 6 out of 10

Its a decent project but nowhere as good people hype it up to be. The production is fantastic but how hard is it to sound good Alchemist's beats?

Alright, breh.

Man, I gotta re-listen to the Statik joint but I kinda liked Freddie. The Mary J Blige joint (2 Legit) was fire. Weight and Triple Threat were crazy. The old Eazy-E sample joint.

I don't really like trap production but this album was dope to me. It's not in my top 5 Gibbs projects or anything, but I do like it a lot.

BTW anyone catch this joint w/ Gibbs? It's groovy.

no one on griselda has a project better than this, let alone pinata or bandana....and I like griselda a lot.
I agree. IMO the closest thing to Alfredo this year are Price of Tea in China and Descendants of Cain. I listened to Tea in China again 2 days ago and man...that shyt is a darker and murkier modern day version of Reasonable Doubt through Detroit's eyes.

The album is already aging so well in only 6 months. It's over 4 mics to me, and I'm pretty stingy with the grading. All the visuals so far have been so varied on on point as well.

And Descendants of Cain is just lyrical beyond belief. Solitude of Enoch is in my top 3 songs of the year.

nikkas cant keep leaving out You Only Live 2twice. It has MAYBE 1 skippable track.

And it gave us this classic.

No doubt! After Pinata, Bandana, and Afredo, this is my favorite Gibbs album.

I love on Crushed Glass how he says 'Chest to chopper, blow your chest out, where your heart at...' because it's the same sample as this

I actually loved the Statik Selektah one. These in particular:

Statik's beats are usually really flat to me but he came correct on that one.

I know what I'm bumping later today.

I feel the same way about Statik BTW, but I do like some of the recent joints he's been doing more than most of his stuff

The comparison is probably gonna feel lazy because they're both white boom bap producers but I often feel like Statik is like Jake One minus everything that makes Jake One's stuff knock so hard. I think it's the drums and other elements in Statik's beats that always end up boring me. You like the idea of him more than the end product. Just safe and bland I guess.
