BFK as a whole been on repeat....most of the issues that kept me from really fukin wit em it seems like he cleant up this time around....I still had the complaint id like to see him try lighter more upbeat beats...I think he gets lost in the background on sum of these beats he spittin on....I typically fell beats like the ones he raps over on BDK should be reserved for nikkas with a strong mic presence which Gibbs don't have.[/

I partially agree with this, but it don't take away from Gibbs music imo. But as far as Notsofts point, the best example is probably the contrast between Gibbs & Z-Ro on Boxframe Cadillac. Gibbs always just seems to blend in and flows perfectly with the beat like another musical instrument instead of largely standing out. That aint really a negative for me though.

:salute:@Nudie this is exactly it....and on top of that Gibbs is great technically as far as flow and lyrics but he really not that type of rapper where he gon have a bunch of quotables or have u hittin the rewind button 5 times in a song to hear what he said imo....without a strong mic presence those beats just don't work for him, don't get me wrong he got plenty songs on the album I like that has that type of beat....but u notice it on tracks when he has other rappers on it,like the Zro track, the Jadakiss track, the track Go For It with Jeezy.....makes u realize even though u heard Gibbs verse u didn't really hear Gibbs verse:mindblown: if that makes sense? Sumtimes his verses play background to what's supposed to be the background music....when u in that mood to sit down and really take in the lyrics Gibbs is suited for that type of listen, not that I ain't been playin em in the whip becuz of the production....but I notice the distinct difference in listenin to Gibbs, and other rappers who use the same type of beats....other rappers I'm gettin hype off they lyrics reciting they shyt, whether they in the headphones or in the whip:ohlawd:

We might realize a style of production change won't help him with that, but I think it could help sumbody who doesn't have as much mic presence if he wants people to take in his lyrics no matter your mood or the setting.....if its gon effect the quality of the music I wouldn't want that though, whether u actually listening to him or not that shyt gon ride regardless:russ:

I thought "BFK", "Walk in With the M.O." And "Tell a Friend" were the best songs on that tape. Never really got into "The Hard". Was disappointed with the mix tape overall...
