It's cool for what it is. Lil light post Grammy "freestyle". Clearly not meant to be nor is on the level of Nas joint.
Gibbs did his thing as usual, however the beat is just aight. I just feel he needs to find the right mainstream trap/street producers that fits his sound and bring out the best in him like Alchemist and Madlib does. Been rockin with him since Midwestboxframe, I don't want him to get boxed into just Madlib/Alchemist projects.
I honestly like his Shadow of A Doubt/Pronto sound, I would like hear something with that vibe again.
The flow is the flow, we know what it is. Dope. But like...this is kinda...mid to me...and the sample makes it worse. We've heard someone body this beat, as hard as anyone can body a beat. With lines and delivery that can give you chills to this day. Fast forward to this song and there's not a line that even stands out. It feels like a freestyle more than a song.
Gibbs too concerned about proving he's a great rapper. And now that he's getting on bigger platforms and reaching more people...he's reaching people who don't give a fukk whether you're a great rapper or a pedestrian rapper. They just want a dope beat and some cool lines or fukkery, plus a great hook. I feel like he really needs a producer to PRODUCE him and tell him not only slow down, but improve your enunciation. Breh be rapping so fast he's slurring his words and skipping letters and shyt.
Came in to say the same shyt. His enunciation is poor and doesn't seem to be improving with experience. Makes him sound like he's mumbling or his vocals are lost in the mix. Makes it a chore to hear what he's saying and leaves the songs sounding like rough demos or reference tracks.
What parts didn't you cats understand?
I didn't have a problem understanding this, at all.
Maybe because I'm from the midwest and this flow has been around like 30 years, I dunno.
Fred.
Nawl. For as much as I love his music, he do be slurring words at times when he on that double time shyt and it sounds hard to understand from time to time.
Eh he’s doing too much of this nyc shyt with madlib and alc. needs to go back to trap. Getting repetitive now
Nobody listened to him before madlib and Alc
Ehhhh didn't do the sample justice
Used his old beat and threw a shot "Nikkas ain't losing sleep, tell em I'm sleeping on em"
He doesn’t need to drop it completely but damn my nikka u can’t give metro a call?
Nobody listened to him before madlib and Alc
reminds me of bfk era freddie
lost to nas, only right he comes back spitting over a "you're da man" sample
