You can sell me on Spitta taking a casual approach to a project after completing it, given how often he moves on to the next thing. But you're never gonna convince me Spitta simply said fukk Fetti I'm not helping with shyt UNLESS something happened. And given how Gibbs has operated over the last 3 years or so, why wouldn't I just assume that nikka's negative energy simply compelled Spitta to separate himself from the situation?

There seems to be something genuinely wrong with Gibbs. Whether it's drugs or extortion or getting caught in the sauce of pretending to be a gangster for too long...too many examples of this guy fukking up for me to ever take his side again. I'm damn near done with his music entirely to be honest.

this coming from a longtime stan of spitta but you telling me you aint listening to montana whenever it drops? :sas2:

At that time Spitta was the A side. I had only vaguely knew Gibbs as the dude beefing with jeezy and had a indie highly acclaimed album that I didn’t bother to listen to.

Then he blew me away how dope he was out rapping Spitta :picard: ffwd now I’m a more consistent Gibbs fan than spitta

And I know I’m not alone. Before it was easy to track how popular a indie artist was, Currensy was the most popular indie cat. He opened his fanbase to so many rappers and producers. Alchemist may be on just blaze retired status if not for Spitta

So for Gibbs to carry a grudge over a damn video is silly. And the answer why is he be on coke man. 9/10 if you see Freddie do some wild out of pocket shyt it’s bc he on that shyt

Which years? Curren$y was signed and even dropped multiple albums under Warner and Atlantic.

Freddie Gibbs' problem is more than just doing coke.

True but by that time he had done a ton of indie projects and was known as the indie cat

Point being it’s kinda crazy to look at the rappers/producers Spitta was bigger than at the time of their collabs

Alchemist was kinda dormant

Curren$y was attached to multiple movements. That's why he was a big name on blogs and message boards. People had motivation to fukk with him.

When he broke away from all that, more and more people stopped caring about him. The same thing happened to Wiz although he's still a big name, just not listened to.

Well, that and both had major label deals to power those movements which have either been completed or no longer lucrative

Their missions have been accomplished already, they do it for the love at this point and make crazy money away from rap.

Edit: back to the original point tho alchemist himself has said in interviews that he owes a large amount of his current success to Curren$y, he goes out of his way to try to include him things he's doing because of that.

I imagine he feels the same way about Evidence

Curren$y's movement(s) started before he signed to a major and, for a while, outlasted that period of his career.

Wiz Khalifa during the second half of the 2010s was signed, his albums charted, but he didn't have any singles success. Idk if he tried and flopped, or just didn't try.

Right, but the label deal gave him staying power that his peers didn't have. He really helped nikkas he didn't have to and when they got bigger than him they didn't turn their back on him because they know he put food on their table.

Idk what you mean about Wiz he has some of the biggest hits of that decade

We dem boyz, black and yellow, see you again (I wanna say see you again is literally the biggest hit of the 2010s period, it broke youtube records), roll up, young wild and free, etc

And I don't believe any of his albums flopped after he blew up, pretty sure they're all platinum or gold

"Black and Yellow" and all that shyt is from the first half of the 2010s. Wiz Khalifa's singles that were successful in the second half were exclusively from movie soundtracks or from Rolling Papers 2. All of them had features too.

Then in 2019 he stopped charting outright and his major label deal ended. All his solo albums were successful except the last one which was a flop. There was a clear peak and downward trajectory following 2015.

Curren$y might have detected the cuckold energy and studio gangster energy in Freddie Gibbs early on.

In his mind, this was like Max B separating himself from Jim Jones (except that money wasn't a big factor).

Isn't Gibbs' dad a police officer? Gibbs got two pornstars pregnant, TWO. Gibbs got beat up by Benny the Butcher, and chased by Jim Jones. How do you get chased by another cuckold and who been chased all over NY himself?!

that's whack, Curren$y always shoots some visuals to all his projects idk why he didn't with that collab.
Based on the chasing he did on getting Gibbs to finish the project there was probably some get back involved in this.
