Im a first nations living in canada I remember elementary im pre sure it was kindergarten they started talking about indians and instantly the class looked at me and I fed them abunch of bullshyt and they ate every word of it. A few years later they made the pillaging sound like the greatest thing to ever happen to natives like left out the rape the murder the small pocks and the residential schools out with it being " we clothes the natives and introduced them to a new god while civilizing their culture" my mom complained about the bullshyt they were feeding me next thing you know im pulled out of social studies and am sent to ESL (english second langauge) with the other natives and mfers who couldnt speak anglishThis ain't nothing new.
American History books have omitted several truths. You grow up thinking Native Americans were savages who scalped you. You grow up reading that slavery happened, it was bad, but then it ended. You grow up thinking America is the greatest.
You grow up thinking that everyone has an opportunity to succeed, and if you don't, it's because you didn't work hard enough.
They don't want us to be educated. They don't want us to know the truth.
