1.Jack Johnson > Jack Dempsey > Joe Louis> Marciano> Ali> Tyson> Mayweather >..............

Someones always there to fill the void.

2. Boxing is linked with american (and mexican, british,) culture, it will never die.

3. Boxing has no competition. UFC had a buzz when it started but now? Steroid scandals, champions getting injured yearly, not drawing that much etc It won't die but it will be a distant second for a long time.

I only watching ufc and never boxing. The only reason why boxing is still even relevant is because of mayweather. Once hes gone the sport will officially be dead. Everyone knows mma is the shyt now.

I automatically assume the person who makes comments like this is using a much smaller portion of their brain capacity then normal . . Like the average brain has the portion of a baseball being used and this guy has a pinball.

He's right that's why I keep saying boxing needs to hype its new breed.
Boxing isn't an organization like UFC where they can easily make stars. It's an open global sport with "stars" in a bunch of different countries. Until boxing is banned globally and is no longer dirt cheap to jump in, then it isn't going to die.

That's BS its at least 5-6 fighters that boxing could get behind and push via media (TV, net, print) and pushing there fights...Its some talented young boxers but they don't get attention...

MMA is more action packed than Boxing so people want to see that more...But big names sell and Boxing is running low on those big names they can manufacture more.

That's up to HBO or Showtime. They are the ones that can really "push" boxers, majority of the time it is up to the fighter himself to be seen and make a name.

I personally prefer MMA to boxing. I train in wrestling and BJJ and the sport is a big part of my life, but I do enjoy watching boxing. However whenever MMA guys speak about boxing they sound like complete idiots.

Exactly and I'm really shocked they don't....

wilder, Thurman, Broner, crawford, brook, Bradley, porter, quillin, should all be getting pushed

Like for example the undercard for Pac vs Floyd should feature some of these guys.

I don't know how my partner AB ain't on the undercard.

How many times over the years have we heard that boxing is dead/dying. He should be worried about MMA, they are the ones who will be lacking stars in the near future. Right now they have all their eggs in one basket and it's name is Conor McGregor.

He's right tho, after that fight (or fight series) it can only go downhill from there

:manny:

But it's possible that bringing boxing back to network TV in March might help boost it's popularity

But right now 9 outta 10 people care more about MMA than boxing these days, This isn't the 1960s-90s anymore

Kids don't even know who the boxing heavyweight champion of the world is these days (once the most important title in sports)

:manny:

But kids know who the UFC Heavyweight Champion is?:comeon:
