The movie pulled a bait and switch. Finn was portrayed as the protagonist up until the last 3rd then suddenly it's Rey's film. She's also too perfect. She reeks of a bad fan fiction self-insertion style character. I swear if she's related to Luke or Obi-Wan I'll vomit.

This movie reviewed well because it played it safe. The only risk it took was Han at the end.

So if she's related to Luke you'll vomit? Never mind the fact that all six movies before this revolved around the skywalker lineage huh? That's what the anthology films are for. You make me vomit. Nerd.

She wasn't that strong? Kylo was whooping her ass until he got severely injured, using mind trick on storm troopers who are brain washed in the first place isn't that remarkable. No one would have a problem with what rey did if finn or another male was the protagonist instead.

He definitely is. No other storm trooper that we know of awoke consciously enough to deny their programming and training. The force is awakening in people, as we know Poe is force sensitive as well

I agree, watched it again last night and during that first scene when Kylo stops and looks at Finn before walking back to the ship, that's when the force awakened. Then Kylo knew immediately who it was when they informed him someone helped Poe escaped...

They'll explain it in the later movies. I'm willing to bet Rey was trained along with Kylo Ren by Luke and she somehow got thrown on that planet and had her memory wiped. And everything she did was just muscle memory.

So why does Kylo Ren not seem to remember/know her?

At one point before very early in the movie I believe before Ren even sees Rey Snoke tells him there's been an awakening. I thought they were talking about Finn.
