This hasn’t been the case in 18 years

Not as far as creative storylines, but bigger picture, on a business level it still is. Rebranding to PG was the right move rather than continuing to chase ratings, they made WWE network work, and have monetized their hardcore fan base well.

what he say?

I posted the vids here already but it was some statement when he was still working for TNA. Said he had been approached by some international businessman with links to politics who recognised they could use pro wrestling as a mass media influencing tool and were playing to take over WWE, they had already got Vince to float it on the stock exchange and they were buying up stocks, he said listen a few things are gonna start happening

-Competition in the USA hindered by people coming in claiming they are there to help but are really plants to hinder them competing with WWE. Then we had Hogan etc. Come in and help destroy TNA.

-The raid and destruction of the European indie scene but UK in particular, taking talent and storylines. We have watched that , Channel 4 was gonna air a promotion here but then they created NXT UK and killed that by poaching talent.

- Slow takeover of WWE, you have seen Vince and other top execs constantly selling stocks like they are getting out. Also XFL could be an exit strategy for Vince.

- Events that will drive down ratings in the US and make them lose fans till confidence is lost in Vince's ability to run the company. Need I say more.

- Campaigns against safety and welfare standards in the industry will ultimately cause pro wrestling to be heavily regulated until only basically WWE can promote it in the US. The safety and welfare discussions have slowly begun

It was a illuninati-esque statement but it was years ago and ALOT of what he said would happen, has happened just like he said it would happen.

WWE is a billion dollar company. They can't afford to let "Indy darlings" wing it on a nightly basis. Failing almost forgettable companies that make no money like ROH and startups that haven't made any money yet like AEW can afford to experiment with their promos and shyt.

seems like he has gotten more stubborn and senile as he aged. Not even HHH or his children can get him to change.

The solutions are not hard...allow talent to have more creative control...more downtime to physically and mentally recover

the more you let the talent be themselves the more entertaining the talent will be and the more engaged the audience will be to the talent...

the actual story lines don't matter as long as there is passion and the wrestlers sound natural, like they did back in the day when they weren't as heavily scripted
this

but to be real WWF has always been like this as far as I remember. I doubt it changes

Is there a correlation between Lethal being champ and ROH all of a sudden not being "cool" amongst the indy fans? :mjpls: I'm askin because some of yall know better than me. :patrice:

Jay lethal sucks but it has to do more so with the fact that roh roster has been trash for like the 3 or 4 years and no one ever paid attention because of the elite and njpw being a nice facade.

Roh as an organization has no one to blame but themselves

Morale will only get worse from here.

The Wild Card rule means a lot of the undercard will get even less screen time than before (other than to chase R-Truth around backstage), and the world title scene since Money in the Bank is probably not boosting confidence in anyone either.

It was bad enough Orton didn't take a single bump in that match (though if he knew the finish I don't really blame him), but guys like Ali, Andrade, Finn and Ricochet damn near killed themselves for Brock to show up in the last 20 seconds and grab the briefcase. Then both the world champions look like hoes begging him for attention and Seth was acting like a scared kid last night waiting for his daddy to give him a whooping.

"The product" might get better or be NXT/Indyish if Vince steps down, but I'm comfortable saying they won't make as much money with HHH/Steph in charge. Even though quality and ratings are down, Vince has found a way to continue to adapt and make tons of money for WWE. Steph knows how to promote WWE as philanthropic and babyfaces and HHH knows how to please hardcore wrestling fans, but Vince has a creativity and vision they can't replace.

I mean the only reason they making money right now is cause of TV and Saudi, all the other metrics are down. As along as they can maintain that (and Steph has people around her telling her all this corporate speak, though Im not sure she knows)

In reality Michelle Wilson and George Barrios have created the corpoate culture there and secured the big deals so as long as they are around they'll be floating. Then the question is, does Hunter make the product better and even if he does, does it actually result in improvement of traditonal metrics?
