MLB Sees Record Revenues Approaching $10 Billion For 2016

10 billion :whoo:

Those dominant local TV ratings :whoo:

"b-b-but baseballs dying":sadbron:

Still 2nd place :umad:

-No healthy players sitting out of games

-You can't easily predict who will be the two top teams unlike certain other sports

- People of all sizes can play

- No politics

- Very few divas or attention whites

Beisbol :banderas:

double the revenue of the NBA:blessed:
i would hope so...
there are literally double the amount of games played in baseball and baseball parks are 2-2.5 times bigger than the average basketball arena as far as seat totals.
there are simply more opportunities to make money in baseball
i do think parity existing helps the game of baseball.

That's not where all the revenue is coming from

MLB makes so much more digitally then the NBA as well

And on a local level in most markets MLB beats the NBA as well

I'm a huge baseball fan, but unless they start getting the younger fans, this sport will be like boxing.

Of course the WS did numbers, but it's no way next years WS comes close to Cubs Indians as far as ratings go.

Locally the game is huge. Much bigger then the NBA in most markets

Thing is they already have younger fans

Baseball is still huge among kids in the northeast, its participation is up, its arguably the most popular sport among women

Don't listen to polls. Polls told us Donald trump wasn't going to be president

I think more young people watch baseball than what the national tv ratings indicate. I just think they watch their own team and don't have incentives to watch teams they have no rooting interest in. Everytime you see a baseball game its loaded with kids. The games only been getting younger. But it needs to find a way create more national narratives.
