The amount of people who doubted the move to Adidas...
I was one of them
I was one of them
I will say this though, I think he music has taken a step back because he has attention elsewhere. You used to be able to hear the dedication in Kanye's work. I think Yeezus might have been his last truly dedicated work outside of a few moments on Pablo or whatever. But you used to be able to hear his vision as a artist and now most of his work (outside of his production) sounds like its coming from a guy that doesnt really wanna be a rapper anymore.
Forbes puts inflated values on assets & business people have and doesn't take into account taxes or expenditure.
They make shyt up for publicity for themselves and the celebrity they have on the cover.
For what it's worth, this is as much work shown from Forbes as to how they arrive at these figures..."billionaire" doesn't mean someone has a billion in gold bullion sitting in a vault somewhere...the bulk of the 1.3bill figure they arrived at is what he could fetch in a theoretical yeezy brand sale...it checks out to me
If I were him, I’d be looking at cashing out a decent piece of that ...fashion seems more fickle than music, 5 years from now who nows what the value of that shoe line is
Given the illiquidity of these myriad assets and the lack of independent backup, we’re giving all of this a 50% haircut: That’s about $125 million in assets, outside of his Yeezy crown jewel. Then, there’s debt: between mortgages, advances and other liabilities, we saw about $100 million that West is on the hook for.
