you know, alot of the things he say are nonsensical and his behavior is inconsistent. But I will say, if anything, his combination of drive, creativity, and willingness to break the mold could be a case study of success. Given his story, he was an underdog to become a superstar rapper in the mid 2000's. As far I remember, no one (from jay to camron) ever took him seriously as a rapper but fukked with him as a producer. He was determined despite being laughed at and now has one of the most prolific careers in modern music history, whether we look at it critically or by popularity.
I remember people thought he was a delusional werido when he was going at the fashion industry's neck. When he was calling out Nike, claiming he would overtake the empire. That likely wont ever happen, but he is getting as close anyone has. The designs are aesthetically appealing for today, but more importantly the consistency at which he pumps out products that consumers are willing to purchase is insane. Remember when Yeezy release dates were a big deal? Well, not as much these days, but thats simply because he is pumping products out at such a consistent rate.
Dude is 2/2 in industries where the odds are highly stacked against you. And he's doing it at a higher level. If you read some pieces about his ranch in Wyoming, you realize he has hundreds of products and ideas in the work. Many seem half-baked and idealistic, but the fact that he not only develops these thoughts and ideas but also does his best to materialize them is a part of the recipe to his success. Its law of attraction at its finest. He goes on rants about how we need to develop modern houses for all. But who allows Kanye to design/build mass-scale housing for the public? Not anyone with sense, and he knows this. So, he started to build a mock version on his 300 acre farm. Now this might be a complete flop, but the fact he brings that types of energy to his ideas is probably the critical part of his success.
I will say this though, I think the music has taken a significant step back because he focuses his attention elsewhere. You used to be able to hear the dedication in Kanye's work. I think Yeezus might have been his last truly dedicated work outside of a few moments on Pablo or whatever. But you used to be able to hear his vision as a artist and now most of his work (outside of his production) sounds like its coming from a guy that doesnt really wanna be a rapper anymore.
