I know everyone on here is 6 figures :troll: but this is for those who actually have 100k or more saved, no matter how you actually allocate it (stock market, cash, bonds, your checking account, whatever) as long as it’s mostly liquid.

Do you feel secure?? If you came from poverty does this make you comfortable now, or are you still on financial edge? Do you still carry debt?

I’m nowhere near having that saved but I’ve made it my sole goal in life. I’m just trying to see from those who have done it if the “feeling” will be there once I get there.

I have a pretty valuable skill that allows me to make more than that in two months and I have made around $100k in a few five week stretches before. I feel secure because I can work just one week a month and still be “rich”, I can walk away from my job today and find something that will pay me almost as much in a week.

I pay the minimum on my student loans cos I don’t care and the interest rates on them are favorable. I will eventually take on significant debt to try and start a company.

I live well below my means, I pay about $2500 for my apartment and parking. Don’t have a car note or a fancy car, I live in a city now so I can’t even enjoy an expensive car so why waste the money.

I started feeling secure when I had $10k saved up at the beginning of my second year of residency. At that time $10k would have covered my expenses for 6 months, I also had credit cards with $54k total limit and had zero balance on them.

It’s all about your spending habits. Don’t stunt , don’t over extend yourself till you truly got it.

To answer your question I do feel secure, I am comfortable but I did pick up signficant credit card debt and surprised how just a few minimum payments made the debt increase. Should be debt free in a year.

making minimum payment is a trap. I did that through school but when actually started looking at my statement and saw that the interest on my credit cards was more than my car note. I made it a point to pay it all off within a year of working

I don’t think it’s possible to feel secure about your finances unless you are up at least 3-5plus million.

I’m not going to go into how much I’m worth but I still get anxiety about money and I have been extremely fortunate over the last 10 years.

I always keep some just in case money on hand.

Why would you feel secure with a measly $100k? Granted it's enough if you get laid off 1 to 2 years, but $100k ain't shyt. $500k minimum with no debt and the house paid off is security, and even that's a struggle

$2,000,000 with the house paid off means you can easily retire. Worse case scenario move to south America where there's other blacks.

I honestly don't know what amount would make me feel secure but I can definitely tell you its not 100k.

Nope. I don’t think I’ll feel secure till I have 100 for each kid’s future and then 100 on top of that semi-liquid
