Yup. It started around 2010ish. We(early millennials) had been hearing about how our women had been dogged out and not valued by previous generations by pretty much everybody. So we started encouraging and helping out our women as much as possible and it just snowballed to what we have now.
I honestly think you can track some of this to the My Brothers Keeper thing Obama started. The idea of black boys being prioritized for help was so egregious to a certain segment of (very online) intersectional feminists that it sparked the beginning of a lot of shyt we saw in later years.
That being said I reject the idea that black women are somehow uniquely self obsessed and they're the only people who can't take criticism. That's a lot of people today, including a whole lot of men - some of whom are black, obviously.
