why do you guys come up with these solutions and disregard that there's a process. How are you going to get the materials for the raft? You don't think you'll get bitten whilst doing this? You also have to carry the raft to the water. How are you going to do that and fend off snakes?

I think everybody was disregarding that fact. There are snakes everywhere. As soon as you step out the cabin they'll be snakes all around. You're not going to be able to do anything outside w/o the threat of a snake biting you. Now add the fact that you're trying to complete a task that requires your full attention and both hands and arms.
