Religion/Spirituality For atheists: What would God have to do to prove to you that he's real?

when people say 'youre an atheist' its because you don't believe in THEIR god. i choose to place as much relevance in the bible as you do in mesopotamian religious texts

its really as simple as looking at the fact that there have been a thousand gods throughout history. i dont believe in 1000, and you dont believe in 999

If it does, can you display where it suggests that the God of Abraham sent Itself to earth to be born of a virgin, then walk on water, then turn water into wine, and lastly die for our sins? Can you display where this is stated?

I consider myself a believer, but I wouldnt trust anything claiming to be God..except maybe if it was clear to me that i died and am 'somewhere else' (not even looking the same as i did on earth, completely different dimension and dynamics etc)

It's just basically saying.."How can you prove that [whatever] is not lying to or otherwise deceiving you?" Even if every sign points to that entity being God, how would you truly know that, when it could just as easily be something that could make you think you were seeing God or could masquerade as God.

Its not an ability. My lack of a specific religion has no bearing on what we're discussing. We're discussing (I think) what the bible says. Nobody's religion should interfere with that when simply discussing (to reiterate) WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS. Now whether one believes the bible or not is another thing.
