No he’s right, people like Diego Costa, Patrick Vieira are ringers, born in a country and play for them then switch up for fukkboy countries like Spain..

I'm not making any judgment. Re-read the post I quoted.

When Obi Mikel is the star of your national team; you know your nation is struggling to produce talent.

African football needs a total revamp. African Cup of Nation needs to be every four years, the African Champions League need to be revamped and take into account the geographical size and nature of Africa, the African Nations Championship need to be cancelled, a crackdown in overage players is needed, African cup of nation needs a new trophy as its too similar to the world cup and every country need to greatly improve their domestic league, youth development and football infrastructure as whole.

African Football hasn't improved since 2002,

They advanced the AFCON to summertime, which at least is a step in the right direction.

Doesn't matter. Some of the people this thread is about have the exact same situation.

It is not exactly the same situation, because Iguodala's mother's family has been in the USA for hundreds of years. If I understand this conversation correctly; most of the soccer stars are likely descended from both parents that are immigrants into the country. I think the situation that would be similar to the soccer stars; would be the kids of someone like Hakeem Olajuwon or Joel Embiid if they had children by women from their home nations.

definitely more chance for success in football

basketball you know who's gonna win & you know it's finna be a murder

football powers rise & fall one generation of talent can shift the tide

True but countries like France or Germany will always be big powerhouses with their youth development. I don’t know how but Germany has always been a big powerhouse in football. Since 2002 they have managed 3rd place or better.

These Nazis ain’t nothing to fukk with :wow:

If US stepped their game up they definitely would be a big powerhouse in football just as basketball. Look at their women national team.

Can’t hate of these guy wanting to play for a powerhouse. Had they been born in Romania or Malta best believe they would be playing for their African home countries.

Nah, it is exactly the same. You can qualify for either of your parents nations. He was born in the States. His dad is Nigerian. He qualifies for Nigeria same as he qualifies for the States.

Pretty much every team on the planet tries to make sure people who qualify for other countries stays locked down to theirs. If you want to win, you have to have talent and collect as much of it as possible.

This convo is about where is the talent on these teams. Some of these eligible players are playing for other nations.

Mbappe hits back at Assou-Ekotto criticism

Kylian Mbappe plays for France.
He could play for Cameroon or Algeria because of his parents.
Benoit Assou-Ekoto plays for Cameroon. Yet, he was born in France to an actual French white woman.
George Weah's son could play for Liberia also, but is playing for USA.

At the end of the day, people who have options will always have someone to critique them.

don't compare vieira and costa. costa had no ties to spain until he moved there to play professionally. vieira moved to france when he was really young and only played for french youth teams before making the senior team. same for makelele and desailly,

Goes in cycles, new stars will emerge soon.

And what you are talking sound nice. But where is the money coming from?

Was Diego suppose to just sit around and never play in a WC like Jonas? Costa wanted to play for Brasil, but he was never given a legitimate shot at playing in the last WC by Scolari.

That happens a lot in talent rich countries. People go elsewhere, because that’s their only choice to play in WC. Most of the Brasileiros that play for other nations do it because they know they won’t get a shot to play for Brasil.

Not only that, but it is a bad example because Iguodala's mother is an African American named Linda Shanklin.
