There's no meaningful football games being played during the AAF season. If your a football fan that doesnt care for the NBA and theres plenty of them out there, youll find yourself watching the AAF eventually.
That was a fine argument before it started but we are a few weeks in.

Do we really think that sub 1.0 ratings are going to turn this into a sustainable league? They don’t have a revenue generating TV deal. Is viewership going to increase?

A novelty form in the off-season for football fans does not a viable league make sir.

It just business

You can think that but what points to that happening?

Awareness will increase, the weather will get better and over the years more names will play in the league.

Its okay to be pessimistic and stick a fork in the league already i guess but it's all about the long game and I think if they are willing to play the long game they will benefit. If not them then Vince will.

Increase how? Based on what?

More names? Why wouldn’t they be in the NFL. Superstars that drive ratings and attendance are fleeting and limited but they are going to come to this league and driving interest?

At the end of the day it’s a business so real tangible growth has to happen. It’s not pessimism, you are just throwing out a lot of things that are not really based in known reality.

They almost missed pay roll two weeks but that can afford to play the long game? Come bruh........

Plenty of college guys that have potential don't make it in the NFL and people will still pay money to see them. They have a new owner that said that he'd be backing them for the foreseeable future and that man prints money. They'll be fine.

But if you wanna pray they fail then by all means. I see them growing and you see them plummeting and falling. We'll agree to disagree.

Um they just got a 250 million dollar investment. You should know what that means from a "business" standpoint. That alone will be able to sustain them for a few seasons now at the very least. And obviously the league wasn't going to start out as a huge success right away, but once again you should know that if you know anything about business like you keep claiming. It takes time and money to build and grow a business. And there is a market for it as well. Not sure what you've been reading but the AAF has been getting a lot of buzz and a lot of ppl are interested as evident by someone making a 250 million dollar investment in their business. Would someone make a 250 million dollar investment in a business if they didn't think it could be successful?

250 million to help make pay roll so clearly they are not cash solvent and that's not 250 going in the bank. Some went out the door immediately.

Buzz is good but what is that buzz generating now and in the near future?

Depends on what the terms of the investment were.............

So basically you see them growing on blind faith.

Very good

you and @CarltonJunior make good points they need a new tv deal but 1.1 million people did watch Saturday matchup on TNT that’s more than MLS and MLB on espn and NHL on NBC so if they decide to go the cable route like TNT or ESPN they would be ok I personally think they should be on FOX since fox only have college basketball and nascar in the spring time but they need to get off cbs sports network or the league will fail in 2 to 3 years.

That’s part of the issue however 1 million people watching is not allowing them to decide to go the cable route like they hold leverage and especially not as a revenue generator. They can’t wake up tomorrow and decide to go network, they have to present a valid reason for a next work to make that happen. A million people on its face is not doing that.

Also just on pure comparison. MLS plays 30 plus games a season as MLB is 160 plus. This is a ten season league so the time fran of interest should be shorter. Numbers need context at times.

I’m pretty sure fox would take a million viewers vs the 300,000 viewers they just got on college basketball this past weekend SKEDBALL: Weekly Sports TV Ratings 2.11-2.17.2019 | Showbuzz Daily I think it would be more than 1 million viewers since more people can watch the game on fox hell the games on nfl network had 500,000 viewers + on Sunday night and you have to pay extra for the nfl network the ratings have been ok so far for a new League that’s on cable if they can keep up with the ratings I think they will be on fox or abc espn on Saturday and Sunday afternoon

Well you are thinking in a myopic way. That’s all likely tired to a bigger deal that gets them conference tournament rights and probably also tied to a bigger deal that includes football. It’s a loss leader that helps the bigger cause.

So so that point who are they going to displace for 1 million people for 10-12 weeks when those deals span far more demographics over many more months?

Possible but again, numbers need context
