Whoa Whoa Whoa.......I’m a ER nurse in a busy ER. And I can tell you first hand that I’ve only done 2 flu swabs last year, and they were pediatric cases. Normally we do flu swabs on everyone with flu like symptoms during flu season. However, with COVID its been....you either have COVID or a viral syndrome. I imagine other hospitals have the same practice.

We check for the flu and covid at both hospitals I work at or do clinicals at.

that might be the case because flu is not:

1. as infectious as covid (covid can evade your immune system, flu cannot)
2. as resilient as covid (it can live on surfaces for hours)

It wild what a year of "wash your hands", masks and social distancing can do.

But really its because of Schools. On one hand I'm happy that kids aren't spreading germs like wildfire. On the other hand, kids should be exposed to certain germs to create early childhood tolerance so certain diseases don't become life-threatening later in life.

They just changed all the people who typically die from the flu into covid deaths. Conspiracy theorists predicted this months ago. They said once we hit flu season you would see a huge spike in covid deaths as they would simply conflate covid with the flu.

If covid is still spreading, why would the flu miraculously get stopped? You think viruses respond differently to masks?

Nearly another 10% has already tested positive for COVID (with up to 5-10x that many being non-tested asymptomatic carriers)
So you're looking at between 50-100% of the country either being vaccinated or had the virus already.

But somehow people are dying from COVID at record numbers and all of a sudden nobody is catching the flu, which allegedly kills between 40-60,000 people annually

You gotta be incredibly stupid not to see this hustle. They are obviously calling what would usually be categorized as flu deaths covid deaths this year. And funny thing is conspiracy theorists predicted this months ago.
