First off xylocaine isn't illegal anywhere in the US. Secondly as a matter of fact the only indication Floyd ever used ( that ive heard personally) it is based soley off comments by HBO from around the time of the ODH fight. Ellerbie has in fact denied he ever used it at all but I've never heard Floyd state one way or another on his usage or lack thereof.

Xylocaine is a numbing agent it doesn't give you super powers and it isn't some miracle cure that allows a fighters hands to temporarily heal it just helps mask feeling and if anything would be detrimental to a boxers hand health if he used it it the ring because he wouldn't feel the damage being done

I have never seen Xylocaine (lidocaine) given IV though for numbness or analgesia. Maybe they give it for sedation which again I never seen cuz there are much better options

I work at a dialysis clinc and I inject xylocaine into patients everyday to numb the area I stick them with the needles

In my honest opinion, Zab is prolly borderline HOF. I have no problem if he gets in or doesn't. His career has been good enough to at least merit the discussion. He's been inconsistent, but throughout that he's had some good fights and pretty much never ducked anyone. He's also maintained popularity for quite a long time.

I do think Hamed deserves to be in there before he does though.
