BT: Hey Floyd, I don't have much time, but I was calling real quick to see if you heard that Pacquiao responded to your comments from Friday.

FM: What did he say?

BT: Well, he started off saying that you reached a dead end and had nowhere to run and...

FM: [Cutting in] If I'm not mistaken, I think me and Baldomir did better numbers than him and the undefeated fighter Algieri.

BT: Damn. Well he continued, saying that your fights are boring and he wants to make it an entertaining fight, but he doubts you will engage him in a slugfest.

FM: It's so crazy that once he sees that I said I do want the fight to happen and let's make the fight happen, now he wants to say that Mayweather won't stand there and slug with me. Last time I checked, it's not called slugging; it's called boxing. I mean, that's what happend in the Marquez fight. You was trying to play tough guy and we see what happened. It's about working smarter, not harder. When he was fighting Brandon Rios, he wasn't slugging. He was boxing. It's obvious he must know that he's not going to win. He feels that in his heart. Like every other fighter trying to bait me into slugging, that's not going to happen. Even though I know I'm bigger and I'm stronger than him, and I'm smarter than him, we don't believe in taking no punishment. The cool thing about Floyd Mayweather's career is I was able to dish out punishment, not take punishment, make a lot of money, and have all my faculties. That's the cool thing about my career. What's so crazy is they're always talking about Floyd Mayweather fights are boring. I mean, it's an art and last time I checked, I'm an artist and I paint a beautiful picture. A bloody mouth, a bloody nose, cut lip, broken ribs; that's not beautiful on me.

BT: Then he closed it out by saying you can get whatever amount of money that you want because for him, this fight is about making the fans happy and for the good of the sport, so he'd fight you for free.

FM: Listen, I'm truly, truly blessed to be where I'm at and I'm very thankful for the fans. He's talking about the fans this and the fans that. It's obvious the fans must love me more because the pay-per-view numbers are showing who's getting the most love. I mean, of course I'm only human, so every day I come out of my house, I don't always want to take pictures, but I do appreciate the fans because without the fans, we wouldn't be where we're at today. I don't like when people say stuff like, "I'm doing it just for the fans." No, you're doing it for yourself. If you're doing it just for the fans, then you can give the money back to the fans if that was the case. You want to please the fans, but you're not just doing it for the fans. You're doing it for yourself also. I mean, if he wanna fight for free, he can. I'm not fighting for free. Once again, I'm a prize fighter. I fight for a prize, and I'm the A side so I'm always going to get the biggest prize. The thing is this, we need proof of payment. I want to see a copy of his last check.

Look at the last line you posted. Floyd makes it sound like he is part of current negotiations, but wants to see a Pacquiao pay stub.

I hope Floyd doesnt nickel and dime this negotiation. I understand he wants to be the A-side and make more money, which is fair...but also it is Pacquaio who is the only fighter who you can fight to get what would be the largest purse ever and probably a record that would stand for quite awhile.
Most insiders think 60/40 absolutely gets it done and Dan Rafael recently tweeted that Pacauiao has never been offered that, but would take it. I have a feeling Floyd wants way more than that. Maybe he deserves more than 60, but this time around i think the negotiations will come down to if Floyd is flexible in his split. I think eventually it needs to be somewhere in the 60's for Floyd and 30's for Pacquaio.

Both men have quality opponents they could fight, but I must say at this point there isn't a fight either guy could make anymore that would get me really excited other than fighting each other.

Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs) briefly spoke to reporters at the WBC's annual convention, stating that his focus is a mega-match with Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd.

Mayweather was questioned about the possibility of facing British star Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs), who dominated Devon Alexander this past Saturday, and the pound-for-pound king didn't appear too interested in the matchup.

"Khan should make a name for himself. Right now nobody knows who Amir Khan is, only boxing people. I think he should wait a bit [and make a bigger name for himself]. My focus right now is Pacquiao and I want that fight," Mayweather said. "Basically the first time we didn't do the fight because of drug testing, the second he turned down $40 million and now I don't know, another excuse [will come from] Bob Arum, but hopefully [it happens]."

floyd only brings up drug testing as a reason why the fight did not happen ORIGINALLY( u know, in the last 6 years as he wants to point out)
He hasnt mentioned it as a reason why it didnt happened during last negoitations (when he offered the 40 mil) or now

We all want Floyd vs Pacquiao.....that's the #1 fight period. No need for Khan to be in Mayweather's thoughts if he's focused on getting Pacquiao.

It's hilarious though how he's about to "bridesmaid" Khan for the 2nd year in a row

i can see why people are upset with floyd... manny is talking in the now, lets just fight.. no issues on money or anything... while floyd seems to keep bringin up the past.. about the money being right.. the date.. the network... reasons on how the fight can not be made, no one wants to hear that... but to his credit he aslo says he does want the fight.

i think floyd needs to understand that the fight is bigger than him and manny... it really is for his legacy and the fans.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. could not be any clearer about the opponent he wants to fight on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Mayweather wants Manny Pacquiao -- at least, if you are to believe his tweets on Tuesday afternoon.

Several hours after tweeting a photo of a betting slip from a Las Vegas casino for a $400,000 win on Monday night's Allstate BCS Championship Game, Mayweather sent out two tweets calling out and antagonizing Pacquiao.

"Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see," read Mayweather's first tweet.

One minute later, Mayweather followed with this: "My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in.Step up Punk."

Pacquiao's promoter, Top Rank's Bob Arum, told The Los Angeles Times that Pacquiao will fight Mayweather, but not on May 5.

"June 9 is perfect," Arum told The Times from The Philippines where he is meeting with Pacquiao to talk about his next opponent. "May 5 is out, that's impossible."

So Mayweather is now free until June 1 and intends to fight May 5. However, he is without a dance partner.
