May 1st date booked for Top Rank at Cosmo

All signs continue to point towards the reality of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao finally squaring off in a superfight more than five years in the making. The likely date will be May 2, with a hold already place on the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Once the event is finalized, additional fight week plans will begin to roll out. To be included on that list will be a May 1 show down the strip at The Cosmopolitan. The Nevada State Athletic Commission granted approval for Top Rank—Pacquiao’s promoter—to host a show on that evening during its monthly agenda hearing Tuesday afternoon in Las Vegas.
Top Rank has customarily held a show—usually on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights—during Fight Week whenever Pacquiao has fought stateside on a major Pay-Per-View event.
The NSAC also teased the possibility of a forthcoming Mayweather-Pacquiao announcement, with Commissioner Tony Marnell mentioning “a possible $200 million fight that might occur.”

Any such fight announcement will likely come from Mayweather himself through his verified Shots account. From there, press releases from his publicity team and that of Top Rank’s press office—as well as that of the network(s) involved with the event—will outline further details of the event, which will likely go down as the most lucrative in boxing history.
There has not yet been any indication of who would headline Top Rank’s May 1 show. Unbeaten 140 lb. titlist Jessie Vargas has been a fixture on past such events, although he is among a handful of backup options for Pacquiao should “the fight” not occur on May 2.

:lupe: Is it really happening brehs?

"Bu-bu-but @Newzz, you gotta be hating on Pacquiao to say he doesn't have the same killer mentality or willingness to engage in a fire-fight ever since his KO loss to JMM:to: He's still the same fighter...he's not affected by it :mjcry:"

:stopitslime:

I was right and Freddie Roach sees it too:umad:

@Black_Jesus :sas1:

I told you so:sas2:

The old killer Manny is dead my nikka:mjpls:

He's not willing to go to war or take 2-3 to land his anymore:manny:

*goes to watch Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto and pours out liquor for the old Pac*

@Black_Jesus you better call up some whores, get some Ciroc, and meet Manny at the Casino if you expecting him to beat Floyd. This church-going, bible-thumping Manny just ain't got the juice no more:wow:

Freddie Roach sounded sad about Pacquiao not being able to finish off Algieri:heh:

It's completely false.

People need to do their history. Tyson fought and beat alot of HWs that were paper champs and top ranked at the time. This whole "Tyson fought bums" shyt that people true to say these days is bullshyt.

Not saying his resume is great, but those fighters he beat were far from bums
fixed.

So I pose the question if Tyson is a great what about GGG? :sas1:

Michael Spinks was a paper champ?
Larry Holmes was a paper champ?

And even if you want to call the guys he beat paper champs, who were the legit fighters that he didn't fight? Tyson fought everybody, that was put in front of him at the time, they weren't FNF level opponents like you said.

As for GGG, I think he's legit. But we still need to have a wait and see approach, but he does have the potential to be great. Not sure what GGG has to do with Tyson though

Really bro you bringing up Larry holmes old ass. Spinks ass sucks nikka was always overrated to me. fukk him and all his toothless ass brothers/cousins/and parents.

That nikka GGG is legit SCARED to get that ass whooping from #SOG

I used GGG as an analogy because both are overrated power punchers that are VERY one dimensional

Yeah I'm bringing up Larry Holmes. The same old ass Larry Holmes who after getting KO'd by Tyson went on to beat an undefeated in his prime Ray Marcer, took Holyfield to the limit, and arguably beat the WBC champ Oliver McCall (I had him winning that fight). Stop acting like he was a bum when Tyson beat him.

Spinks overrated? Sucks ass? :why: How? I hope you don't mean as a HW, because he's not even highly rated in the division. He is one of the greatest LHW fighters ever (cleaned out and unified the division). Not sure how you came to the conclusion that he's overrated.

No need to regurgitate the GGG/SOG shyt over. No boxer is really legit scared to get their ass whooped. Stop it with the nonsense (and I'm a fan of Ward, and thinks he'll beat GGG)

Tyson one dimensional :what: Sometimes I think nikkas don't watch fights and just be regurgitating bullshyt that others say. 80's Tyson was not one dimensional. He wasn't just a power puncher, he could box too (dude was out jabbing larger opponents). Had some very good technique and great footwork as well as underrated defense (excellent head movement). How you came to this conclusion that he was one dimensional, I have no idea
