That was not first degree attempted murder. They have to lessen the charge or this kid walks.
His brother pointed a gun at him, verbally threatened his life, and he told him he didn't want to fight. He also told him that he should leave the house. He wasn't the aggressor and he tried to peacefully get his brother away from them. He only shot his brother after he shot their sister. Had he not shot him his brother was probably going to make good on his threat and kill him.
The sister was also trying to diffuse the situation and he threatened to shoot her and her baby. She's dead for trying to stop an argument. The 14 year old clearly was a danger to them all. The 15 year old defended himself and the family.
I don't see him being wrong for anything but gun possession. He had to shoot his brother.
If these cacs try to railroad the kid I hope he gets a fair jury, a good lawyer, and beats it.
That doesn't even work when there's a threat to his life, his sister is laying there dead, and a baby is about to be killed.
That 14 year old psycho should never see freedom but the 15 year old was defending his family.
Imagine being at a family get together and you get a gun pulled on you and then witness another family member get murdered. You shoot the killer and get charged with attempted murder

This ignorant sheriff said "they are not getting the consequences they should get that keeps them from doing it again and again and again". Do any jails or prisons in Florida offer actual rehabilitation? America locks up more people than any other country, but we obviously don't have less crime than everyone.
Who raised these children??? If that boy ain't have a gun he would've stabbed or beat his sister. Sad and frustrating all around.
