What makes you guys so sure this is race related? I know in Zimmerman's case there was evidence that he racial profiled in the past, and I know this might turn out to be race related, but is there any evidence or is all dangerous speculation?

I only ask this because living in South Florida, people shoot each other all the damn time, for reasons dumber than "music was too loud."

Here is just one of many, and I mean many, famous examples:

White man shoots Federal Agent (also white) over road rage in front of the agent's daughter, and is now claiming "Stand Your Ground".

I can keep listing white people shooting white people and claiming Stand Your Ground if you guys would like.

This whole thread seems to be "white man shot at person because that person was black" when it should be just an outrage that this piece of shyt is trying to get out of murdering someone over stupid reasons.

The law became a joke once it included public domain in the 2005 version. Its original form limited your "ground" to your home, car, or work place. Any other place you would have to prove self defense. How hard is it for these inbred Republicans to change the law back to its original form?

The law is fine the way it is, except for two things I would change:

You can't be the aggressor of a situation and then turn around and use your weapon (see Zimmerman case). You can't be in the process of violating a law or police guidance and claim Stand Your Ground (see Zimmerman case).

At this point people are standing their ground because they can. He said has he thought he saw a shot gun, how are they gonna even convict dude under the current law. There is no evidence that shows he was the aggressor, like Zimmerman. All he did was ask them to down the music, would you really classify that as an aggressive act? I know this law won't change cause it most likely be me on the short end of the barrel. You better believe if a white men has words for me, I'm calling the police.
