this is all for public consumption breh. disney isn't going to do anything crazy and desantis is trolling, disney isn't going to move, they're not going to slow down or stop any expansions etc. and desantis isnt going to build a prison next door. it's a multi billion dollar publicly traded company. they don't care about the morality, they just want to keep their heads down and continue to print money. desantis is just looking for a public political victory he can sell to his followers and to trump voters etc. this is typical rich white people politics where both have to put on a public show of defiance, and then behind the scenes they come to some kind of "agree tp disagree understanding", 6 months after which it's like nothing ever happened.
people like chris christie are living in the old days of the GOP when the politicians were basically their front line soldiers. that GOP doesnt really exist anymore,
desantis biggest weakness is the medicare/social security/abortion angle.

Said it before but try not to give the american public too much credit. If you have two secrets, one of which is inconvenient while the other is an existential threat the classic strategy of a manipulative person is to cop to the inconvenient hoping it will distract you from the existential. It's like admitting to spending money w/o talking it over with your spouse hoping the discussion doesn't uncover that you're spending it on another woman. trump did that kind of shyt all the time and it worked like a charm.
