:comeon: they are most certainly dumb

This is the country that elected Donald Trump as president.

Donald Trump has never won the popular vote nor did his approval rating ever gone up above 50 % at any time in his Presidency (which is unheard of for any post World War 2 President).

The American people rejected him at every turn, whether you're talking 2016 Presidential, 2018 midterm, 2020 Presidential, or 2022 midterm.

If not for a structural abnormality in the US system called the Electoral College, Donald Trump would be nothing but a running joke in American politics.

And what happened when he ran again?

Irrelevant. The fact that he even got elected once says enough.

But since you asked, next time he ran he still got more votes than any Republican candidate before him and lost a close election.

The popular vote doesn't determine the winner and is irrelevant.

Yes, the Electoral College gave him an advantage but he still wouldn't have gotten elected in a non-stupid country.

People really have to stop overestimating voters :heh:

Cmon man he won the 1st time because of some once in a lifetime fukkery on many levels

He couldn’t solidify it when he ran for re election because he showed his ass the entire time he was in office EVERY SINGLE DAY :laff:

This is a severe underestimation of the American voter. Are they the sharpest crayons in the box? No.

But they have also seen too much of what corporate corruption leads to (2008, Enron, etc) to buy that this was caused by woke banking (also keep in mind that the majority of them don't even see "woke" as a bad thing). There is a reason why Biden's proposed provisions that raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations continue to be the most popular among his proposals.

Americans may be stupid, but they're not dumb.

To be honest most GOP primary voters will, but absolutely I agree with you that overall most voters will rightfully see it as a politically motivated attack.

My point was specifically about how the media reports on the issue and the extent to which the real issue (regulation) gets lost in the mix when the news leads with the "woke" commentary.

Unfortunately though I will continue to assume the worst about the voting public bc the GOP has been the party of open/blatant corruption for an entire generation without much political consequence.

DeSantis has alienated Scott and called him out of touch . DeSantis been taking care of Black people a lot . I'm actually very surprised . Dude is very progressive and been asking Gillum for advice on serious issues.

He wants to make receeational marijuana legal now actually. Some Republicans already complaining that he's too liberal .
