I can get behind the, "corporations should be checked by government" line, but there is a clear moral line here. In this case, government is retaliating against an enemy organization for speaking out against its legislation. That is wrong. I don't care what the speech is or what side its on. Government attacking any entity over speech is unacceptable.

I agree firmly with what you're saying actually. If this situation is truly about Disney speech or activism against the government of Florida, I'm against the implications of that despite my opposition to what Disney is doing overall. If you're against this on that principle, I can agree with that.

Nah this is not about freedom of speech at all. The Corporations are lining up against freedom of speech Disney is one of them. Disney pushes U.S. government propaganda and the Republicans are mad about it because it doesn't benefit them. They don't give a damn about the first amendment themselves but they are nominally positioned now to "defend" it". The media now works in lockstep with the federal government and Disney is a powerful part of that media, so this is really Democrat vs Republican by a different name, not any ideological conflict.

I can see your point and agree that such movies have an impact on American consent. But we might be using a different definition of propaganda. Do they make pro-military movies because they want to gain American consent or because pro-military movies make money? A movie where Captain America beats the Nazis or Ironman defeats muslim terrorists is going to appeal to the masses more than a movie that doesn't utilize a beloved American narrative.

Look at how Winter Soldier took on the military machine when the Iraq War became generally unpopular, or how Black Panther addressed American racism once that became the wave, and I'd say Disney is more trying to follow trends than create them.
