To be fair, the Academy didn't know this would happen. Now with that being said, it puts a spotlight on them as well, although Ezra isn't an academy member. It does show how Will Smith slaps a Man during the Academy's 'Birthday Party' gets Will nuked from them for 10 years, while Ezra continues to draw allegations and WB is doing nothing.
